“Low key island therapy - but keep it secret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2012

I love this place. If you are looking for a bar/restaurant in the UK sense, you will be disappointed. This is a truly Carriacou style bar on the beach which keeps laid back, chilled out people seeking peace and tranquility well fed and watered. So if that's what you're after, you've struck gold.

It is difficult to beat the combination of a turquoise sea and sky and easy access to cold beers and the best chips I have ever eaten! What takes this places heads and shoulders above anywhere else you might find in the world is the beach. No fighting for beach space, decks chairs or a"decent spot"! This is the place to chill out and find some peace of mind. We spent many a day at this bar/beach just taking in the view and getting a sense of the happenings on the island. Curtis is a wealth of knowledge as well as being a good host! The food is basic and beautiful. The chips are the best I've ever had anywhere, but that might be down my personal taste. Too much sand, sun, sea and good times? I had a lobster here which was gorgeous. I can't wait for our next holiday there!

“made the holiday perfect.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2012

I realy don't want to tell everyone about this hidden gem.I would like to keep it just for us but "Curtis", owner, cook, barman and "host" extrodinair deserves the highest praise for giving us the best of everything. After indulging in far too many Rum & Cokes delivered and shared with the man himselfe,You just have to experience the freshest most perfectly grilled lobster, served under the stars just meters away from the whispering carribeen shore. Curtis is the MAN, if there is anything you want to do,anything you need to know just mention it and Curtis has the solution. He took us to 'Sandy Island' (should be called Dessert Island') then returned with lunch, delicious, and again to take us home. We asked about a trip to the amazing Oyster Beds,Curtis took us,told us everything we wanted to know and then brought us back to a grilled fish lunch. He will take you on a multi island tour if you want and fulfill any other desires you may have. On relaying our admiration of Curtis to other Islanders we discovered the high regard they have for him, well deserved. He is a great ambassador for his beautiful, unspoilt and welcoming island. He made our holiday a thousand times better than we could ever have expected. Huge but inadquate thanksCurtis.See you soon.

“Off the hook/paradise beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2012

Take a walk to the end of paradise beach, stop in at "off the hook" and the proprietor, Curtis, will have a warm smile, a cold carib beer, and free WI FI for you. His bonfires on Wednesday nights always brings in an interesting crowd.......he keeps a clean beach, has a choice of beach chairs for your comfort, and he will taxi you to sandy island for incredible snorkeling. ...Curtis prepares local chicken and daily catch, if you let him know that you are coming he will ask Thomas to catch you a fresh lobster. This is "limin at it's best, small island real!!!

You will have trouble leaving this place. The beer is cold and the views are amazing. Curtis is a welcoming and friendly owner. Be sure to stop here while visiting Paradise Beach.
