Though we made reservations, it was a quiet Monday night after the football game. Dinner was on the terrace overlooking Admiralty Bay. The candle-lit table set apart from the few other guests made it feel a bit more romantic than other restaurants we'd eaten at.
We were welcomed by Rose and chose drinks from the bar menu. My partner tried the banana colada that's been spoken about in other reviews. Creamy, delicious and deceptive. It would be easy to keep ordering these.
A limited menu keeps things simple and choosing dinner did not take long. We both chose the battered fish and chips, the fish being fresh Kingfish. The kitchen was quick and the meal arrived not long after we had a bit of nicely done garlic bread, covered in a shredded cheese.
A salad of cucumber, lettuce, onion and tomato dressed in a light oil vinaigrette accompanied the main course. The curry aioli added a nice touch and was very flavourful.
We finished dinner by sharing with a slice of fresh coconut cheesecake (made on the premises) and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
All in all, dinner at Papa's was well worth the drive from Bequia Beach hotel.
