'The Fig Tree is THE place on the Walkway where you go to eat if you want to feel at home, with superb local cuisine, made daily from fresh local ingredients, and beautifully presented. I found it while walking down to the beach, dropped in for a coffee and immediately felt like I was part of the Bequia family. Run by Cheryl Johnson, who also runs the Bookshop and the Sweety Bird Café, it is a place of real friendliness and warmth. The food is really authentic Creole, and the staff are a joy - they always remember your name, and you soon get to know them. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner watching the sun go down over one of the most breathtaking views of the island, it's worth tracking down to enjoy a family atmosphere and great food. It's right at the end of the Walkway, so you can wander along, looking at the boats and the shops, and then 'come home' to the Fig Tree.'
