“Experience a Bequia Home Cooked Meal”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

There is only one sitting and capacity is about 25-30. Both nights we were there they were full. Set on the hill near Low Bay, you dine on an out door covered patio adjacent to the kitchen. Fernando we were told was a fisherman by trade and one of his dishes is his catch of the day. They use the local produce for sides that are unique and very tasty. You will not go wrong. Because of the limited seating, suggest you reserve.

“Great fresh food and friendly service”
Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

We had dinner at Fernandos and it was one of the best meals we had on Bequia. The food was fresh, the meals tasted great, and it was at a very reasonable price. On top of that, all of the staff were incredibly friendly, and even ordered us a taxi for the way home.

“Best Meal on the Island!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Although the restaurant can be a challenge to find, it is well worth the effort. Just off the main road that runs beside Lower Bay, Fernando's Hideaway is the lower level of a house set into the hills around Lower Bay. The food is very fresh with ingredients caught or picked that day. Fernando has created his own style using local produce to make unique and tasty dishes. We had each of the dishes for that day - mahi-mahi, lamb and chicken - and each was superbly prepared and presented. Dessert was chocolate cake or butterscotch brownie, again freshly made by Fernando that day. At the end of the meal, Fernando spent time telling us a bit about himself and his sisters (the waitresses) and getting to know his diners better. He was very personable and made the dining experience more like visiting family.
Fernando's was definitely the best meal on the island. While Bequia has a surprising number of good restaurants, Fernando's was top of our list and was also more reasonably priced versus most other restaurants. I would highly recommend that you reserve a spot and experience his restaurant for yourself.

“The islanders favourite restaurant”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

Part of the owners home set in the hills away from any of the hustle of the main town, this family run affair (of 20 years) is a tremendous way to sample local Bequia cuisine. Fresh fish is caught by the main man Fernando in the morning and served up simply grilled (with a dash of a few secret ingredients I'm sure) accompanied by tasty local veg or salad. Try the Calloloo soup for starters a true taste of the Carrabean. The resurant is always busy (only open at nights) so you must book, arrive about 7.30 and kick back and enjoy a bit of fabulous home cooking.

“A must visit in Bequia”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

We would never have found this without recommendation from our hotel. It's a cute little restaurant outside hidden away in the hills. Menu is simple with just 1 starter, 3 main courses and deserts but it was first class food and drink. Service was excellent and so relaxing. Definitely coming back! You must book though to get a table.
