Owner description: The Botanical Gardens are one of the most important and popular sites in St Vincent. They are the oldest botanical gardens in the Western Hemisphere (established in 1765) and are also an important conservation site (particularly for the St Vincent parrot). The Botanical Gardens are in Kingstown, a short journey from the town centre.

Enjoy a lovely afternoon strolling through this attraction or take a guided tour with knowledgeable tour guide - either way this garden is very relaxing.... The parrots are very entertaining as well.

Go once with a guide, who are very knowledgeable, and then on your own to wander and read in the shade, but do NOT go if a cruise ship is in.

Loved all the history in the gardens. Took some really great pictures. Our guide knew his business. At first we were going to just walk around by ourselves but were more or less pressured into a guide. But was glad we did have a good guide as he gave us lots of information. Costs about 20 ec dollars a person

Just a $5 taxi ride from the cruise harbour, the gardens are well worth a visit. I took loads of photos as the local guide showed us round, I can only remember what a few of the plants are now! But did take the sign by the bread fruit tree that was a descendant of the one brought here by Captain Blythe.
