“Beautiful Resort, terrible front desk and accounting”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Beware!,,,,
I am not an investor in this property. I celebrated my sixtieth birthday there from 12/15-12/22/12.
Along with me came family and friends totaling seven people and four villas.
Although the resort is lovely and the staff try's hard to please, there are many problems with
The room and even worse with the bill.
I heard people in front of me arguing with the front desk regarding their bill and I knew I was
In trouble. Instead of creditng my account for room changes, I have been charged three different a mounts. I have spent countless hours trying to resolve this issue. To make matters worse, they
Charged every other party along with me when the trip was paid for in advance!

Dear Madam,

Thank you for your feedback and compliments.

As you know, we moved you to another accommodation to rectify the issue with your villa, but such circumstances are not acceptable and we apologise for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the billing issue was outside of our control because it was due to incorrect information being entered into a booking system by a third party, but the problems have since been corrected. Again, we are sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,

Just spent two weeks at Buccament Bay over xmas with my wife and a group of freinds.... from arrival to our premiture departure it was fantastic !!!!
The staff are excellent, freindly just cannot do enough for you at anytime.....
Very difficult to say who was better then others... however Lionel around the pool is a star and his little helpers Carlson, Valont, and Levi are coming on very nicely.... :)
All the staff in the resturants and bars are also great.. everyone is always smiling and happy to see you and look you in the eye, which is good.
The food is beyond reproach ... absolutely brilliant...... our room was fantastic, room maid great, bed and bedding was really comfortable.. bikes, tennis, snorkling, and diving brilliant.

The only negative for us was Mosqitoes ... i just do not understand why they do not have nets or screens over all the windows.... that would make it perfect for us.... come sunset the mozzies and sandflies come out to feed for an hour or so.... this can be fixed and needs to be in my oppinion... other than that the holiday of a lifetime.. many thanks to all at Buccament...

Room Tip: just make sure it has screens on the windows ... some have and some havent !!!

This is the greeting that meets you when you arrive at the hotel, and although a cliche, it really did live up to it, a slice of paradise. We arrived as the sun was setting, to a warm welcome with cold towels and frozen cocktails. We travelled to Buccament Bay with our two young children and it was well worth the journey, I would advise booking a private transfer with Mustique airlines to reduce long delays, we did and had very little waiting around in airports. The hotel management have worked really hard to iron out any niggles that you still get with 'better' all inclusives and their hard work really shows. The villas are big, clean and furnished in a contemporary style. The pool area is well laid out and only a step away from a gorgeous beach. Food, always high on the agenda, is amongst the best we've had in the Caribbean and certainly the best we've ever had in an all inclusive, the chefs are very flexible, and often rushed our children's order through quickly so we could order our own meal at leisure. There is no restriction on how often you book into the restaurants, and the menus change often enough to keep things interesting. The sports facilities are great, a very well equipped and air conditioned gym, great outdoor tennis courts and football field, the fitness instructor Rob runs classes on the beach, as well, as evening boot camps. We had several tennis lessons, as well as joining in the body blitz and found these excellent, James is a fantastic tennis coach and taps into any age and any ability achieving some great results, he is also the first singing tennis coach we've ever come across, so make sure you watch out for the entertainment. All these things set Buccament Bay apart from its competition, but the thing that stands out more that anything is the quality, effectiveness and general friendliness of the entire staff, that goes also, for the Sr Management, who are always around and ready for a genuine chat. Although all the staff are fantastic we cannot help but mention a few who made our stay extra special, Santa our sushi master, who taught our kids a few tricks on preparing our meals, Irockie who made our evenings and lunch at Jacks even more enjoyable, especially when he let us get up close and personal with the lobsters, Kim and Terence at the coffee shop for always giving us extra marshmallows, and at the pool Carlson for endless drinks and smiles, as well at Dexter and Keon, but our employee of the year award must go to Lionel, who brought us fresh flowers and fluffy towels every day, as well as patiently entertaining our children and allowing them to follow him around.
Christmas is always special in the Caribbean but Buccament Bay make a real effort for children, we came back from dinner on Christmas Eve to stockings on the beds for the kids with beautiful teddies, candy canes and toys, a bottle of wine and chocolates for us adults, the boys were as excited as we were, then on Christmas Day, the real, Santa and elves arrived by boat, and had individually wrapped and tagged present for each child, with really great quality gifts, this was an unexpected but highly appreciated thought, thanks to Christine for that.
We hope to return in the next few years and will find it hard to go anywhere else in the Caribbean.

Room Tip: We requested one near the beach, and got close to reception, might be worth asking the same t reduce...

The service from the every team member was fantastic. All so helpful and genuinely interested in making sure your happy.
We were in St Vincent for my friends wedding and Janine the wedding planner was phenomenal. She did such a great job.

From the moment we arrived till the moment we left the kids had a ball. Special mention to kurt and Peter the drama and singing coaches who were outstanding. Also to James who is not just the tennis coach. He seems to live an d breathe his job

The poolside staff Lionel, concliffe and Carlson could not do enough for you and anticipated your every need.

Chef Len was wonderful and fantastic with the children letting them help decorate the gingerbread house she was making for the hotel.

HQ the cafe was even better when Kim was on. She actually made you just want to pop in and say hi with her happy cheerfulness.

Only downside was the lack of restaurants as not all are open. However if you BA e 24 hours notice they were very accomodating in providing whatever food you like.

Unfortunately our last 3 days the weather was not good and I felt very sorry for those who had arrived for Christmas and had not seen the sun and by the look of the forecast not going to. Long way to go for that kind of disappointment although obviously no fault if the hotel, but it is a rainy island.

Sunset cruise astonishingly good. Must have sighted about 40 dolphins who interacted with the boat.

Would definitely return

Buccement bay deserves to do well.

It's a new resort and there is still some development at the back of the resort. However that aside they've got it spot on. We didn't spend a penny once we arrived other than on spa treatments & diving. We had tennis lessons, singing lessons (my wife did!), lovely meals, and friendly service.

At the moment I think its still undiscovered and becoming established so it's a great time to go. It was quiet & we had great loungers by the pool whatever time we arrived there!

Sunset cruise was ace and the three restaurants (More opening soon) including the Indian were fab!

The plunge pool in the apartment is a lovely touch.

We wanted a relaxing pool/beach holiday & got just that! Fab. All inclusive & not in a cheap wrist bAnd way but in a classy way!

One critism. If you go PLEASE tip the deserving staff CASH. There seems to be a huge confusion over signing tips on your bill & it not getting put in the system or into their wages. Most of them deserve tips too.

Happy Hols. We will definitely recommend whilst it remains new and undiscovered.

The Buccament Bay Resort has had many fantastic reviews and I am delighted to say our experience over the last week has confirmed that people were not exaggerating. Service was impeccable and the staff very, very friendly, but not obsequious in the slightest. Special thanks to Irockie, Keon, Francesca, Carlson, and the irrepressible Lionel and many others. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms in our garden villas comfortable and the facilities first class. The food was the best I have ever experienced in the Caribbean. The Sushi at Ginger & Co was absolutely excellent, thanks to Santa (no, not the one with the beard!)
Minor complaints, one of our plunge pools (5003) was always running low on water and there was no hot water for showers in the evenings. Apart from that, truly excellent!
