“Refreshing and beautifully manicured estate!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

Located in the mountains above the Mesopotamia Valley, the Montreal Garden estate is blessed with fertile volcanic soil and frequent rainfall. You will find an array of exotic flower species and plants interspersed with green foliage in an environment that is cool, misty and quiet.
The Gardens are open to the public during the weekdays from 09:00 am until 4:00 pm between the months of December and August. The small entrance fee of EC$10 per person is charged and only EC$5 for children under 12 years of age. It is closed on weekends and bank holidays.

I really appreciated the variety of plants and flowers on the premises, the skillfully shaped trees and flower beds, beautifully manicured... Located much higher in the mountains area at an altitude of 1,500 feet, the fresh breeze is welcomed as the temperature here is always quite warm. The panoramic is delightful. The walkways and pounds here and there are enchanting. Truly a hidden gem for those who are into it; worth the drive.

“Very informative”

Guide will cost you a little bit for a tour of the gardens but well worth it. Lovely place to walk through without a guide as well

“A Slice of Heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

A wonderful hike through beautifully cared for gardens. We visited the gardens with a taxi driver named Desmond Samuel. He walked with us and pointed out plants we might have missed on our own. The six of us contacted him through the Sunsail/Moorings Sailboat Charter base. I believe there was a $5 fee at the Garden. And it was definitely worth more.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2012

We have visited these gardens twice and on each visit were overwhelmed with their beauty. Set inland and fairly high in the hills, the gardens are accessible only by car, but our taxi drivers were knowledgeable about the planting and walked around the gardens with us, informing us of the names of various specimens and with some plants their use in herbal remedies. The entry fee is less than £5 per adult and, although privately owned, the gardens are not managed on a guided tour basis - visitors are free to wander at will through the lovely terraces, leading down to a luxuriant ravine. Reaching the bottom would be challenging for the diabled. There is no cafe, souvenir shop or any commercial outlet here - just the gardens to enjoy at one's own pace. This trip would occupy half a day and as a bonus the journey through the hills to the gardens is also a pleasure.

Beautifully landscaped gardens with gorgeous plantings. But would have liked to know what all those plants were!
