“Delightfull Farmhouse with donkeys”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2008

A well run and very comfortable former farm with some lovely views across the Welsh countryside. After a bit of a bumpy drive over the last few hundred yards to the property, we were met by Ann who showed us our two comfortable rooms, and then produced tea and welsh cakes which we enjoyed whilst sitting out in the sunshine!
Our rooms, in converted farm buildings, were small but extremely well equiped, and included wine glasses, corkscrew, wind-up torch, playing cards, touch sensitive bedside lights. The breakfasts were really superb, and nothing was too much trouble.
This really is a lovely place to stay - and there are two donkeys!

We have just returned from a 4 night stay and had a fabulous relaxing time.

The hosts, Ann and Keith couldn't do enough for us.

This meant a great deal to us as we were travelling with our young daughter (9 months old) so needed help with high chairs, food warming etc.

The food was excellent, and although there were many options I could not resist the full monty every morning.

The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, and we had fresh towels every day.

The views are simply spectacular, especially from the top of the donkey field. Speaking of which Rosie and Gracie (the donkeys) were very friendly, I believe they were rescued from a petting zoo. My daughter loved them.

If you want to relax in a beautiful, peaceful location this is the place !!

The rooms at this wonderful B&B are in lovingly converted outbuildings on a small farm in the midst of the Welsh countryside. We spent 2 nights in the stable and stableloft and wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless with plenty of hot water and lots of little extras like tea supplies and snacks, movies and games, umbrellas by the door, and fresh flowers on the side table. Some of the rooms have lovely patios--a good place to enjoy some wine and conversation on a summer evening. The hosts, Ann and Keith, were very friendly and helpful with directions and maps, and they specialize in hosting hikers and cyclists. The breakfasts were delicious with fresh local ingredients and Ann's homemade muesli served in a warm and inviting breakfast room. The view from the hillside was a breathtaking one of sheep grazing in green fields and the Irish Sea in the distance. There is a lovely formal garden on the property and donkeys Gracie and Rosie greet the guests in the morning. Access by rental car was easy and very well marked by roadside signs, and we found Criccieth centrally located with plenty of pubs and evening meal options there and in nearby Portmadog and Tramadoc. We had a wonderful stay at Tyddyn Iolyn Framhouse and highly recommend it!

Found this gem on the Internet. A wonderful B and B set on an old farm, not far from Criccieth. We stayed in an annex called the Bakehouse. Lovely four poster bed, dark gothic colours. The farm courtyard was wonderful. Great views and perfect for sitting out sipping wine. The hosts could not have been more pleasant and cook a mean breakfast (though why you only get 1 rasher of bacon and 1 sausage is beyond me!)

Some good restaurants in Criccieth and Porthmadog (Yr Hen Fecws was divine). Might struggle for pubs though. But if you want a break away from it all, I would thoroughly recommend.
