“Beautiful spot !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

We had dinner here with friends, our second visit to Mustique ,which is pretty pricey ,but worth it for a special evening. You enter into a lovely ,colonial style bar/sitting area ,very tastefully decorated and comfortable with a piano for spontaneous tinkling of the ivories ! Unfortunately there were no limes or lemons available for our gin and tonics, not very impressive for an establishment of this standing, especially as I saw both fruits down at the market stall. However the meal was very nice, and the staff polite without being over-friendly,lovely view of the yachts in the bay.

“The Best Bites in Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

The restaurant at the Firefly Hotel, Mustique, is a taste sensation. Every appetite is recognised in a menu that charms and delights the diner. A truly remarkable place to eat. The BBB centre of the Caribbean - that's Bites, Banter and Booze!
Can't wait till I eat there again.

“the worst experience on Mustique”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2011

It was the dream vacation that turned into a nightmare after we booked a table at the famous Firefly restaurant/hotel in Mustique. The restaurant atmosphere was dead, they were playing the whole album of Leonard Cohen coz the ipod was set to play alphabetical artist !!!, the service was rude, impolite and oh so pretentious... the waitress was acting as a McDonald worker with attitude, the bar-tender dismissively made up lies about the availability of wine, the bill came up totally wrong and some of us got yelled at for taking the wrong way to the washroom.... honestly, the worst experience on Mustique island.

“The Firefly is the only place in the world to vacation!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2009

My husband and I have been visiting the Firefly for the last 6 years, and each time we go, the place just gets better and better. And that's amazing, because it was perfect the very first time we went!! There are 100+ reasons why Firefly is our favorite place on earth, and after traveling all over the globe, it honestly remains as such. I would love to keep this place a secret, since only a handful of people in the world know about it, but I just have to finally put my experiences on Trip Advisor, because it really shouldn't be missed by anyone. I couldn't possibly detail all of the reasons here... but I'll give you a quick synopsis. For starters, Mustique is the most beautiful private island, with white sandy beaches surrounded by azure seas. It is rustic, charming and incredibly opulent all at once. The island has only a few paved roads (you get around using motorized golf carts) and all roads lead to one of the beautiful beaches (each different from the next) . Mustique has it all, from water sports to horseback riding.... you name it, they can do it. The landscape is dotted with glorious (wow!) villas and estates, one more astounding than the next, but the Firefly is indeed the ONLY place one should even consider staying. Perched high on a cliff, with water views from every one of its (only!) 5 decadent rooms, the scenery at Firefly is breathtaking. The rooms, each individually decorated, are elegant in their simplicity, with every major comfort of home (or the home you wish you lived in!), with beautiful beds, linens, toiletries, soaps, shampoos etc-- all designed specifically for the hotel. The property is lush and tropical, with a beautiful infinity pool which appears to fall into the sea, small nooks to hide away and read or snuggle with your loved one, beautiful flowers and trees, a natural rock jacuzzi to soak after an "exhausting" day of boogie boarding, and hummingbirds that greet you each time you open your eyes. The owners, Liz and Stan, make you feel right at home from the first time you step foot into the hotel (in fact, by the 2nd day you're there, you feel as if you've just come home-- it is that friendly). The bar, which is top rated, has a cool and casual elegance. By day, it is quiet and relaxed; by night (when you never know if you'll run into a celebrity or a soon to be new friend) morphs into the island hot-spot. But it is never overly crowded or too loud, and you always get the special attention you deserve while there. The bar itself has sweeping views of the sea, and the cocktails (which never cease to amaze me) are expertly prepared by the amazing bartenders/waiters (Arian, Patrick and Rodney), who always greet you with a smile and a big hello! The food (oh wow!!!) is as fresh and delicious as it comes. Liz and Stan have put tremendous effort into the perfect blend of decadent, elegant and healthy food, that never feels outdated or stuffy. In fact, they will accommodate just about any request you have!!
On our last trip there, just 2 weeks ago, to celebrate my birthday, Stan and Liz arranged an incredible barbecue on the beach, with food served right out of the sea and right off the grill. Tables were set up, drinks flowed freely and we worked it all off with a good swim in the beautiful sea. The next day, they suggested a pizza party on the beach-- and after finding a secluded little cove, the Firefly staff delivered fresh, hot pizza from their own ovens and coolers of drinks right to where we were!! That night, we had an impromptu party in the bar-- I said, "How about a little Michael Jackson?" and before I knew it, speakers arrived, the Ipod was docked, the lights were dimmed, we kicked off our shoes and danced the night away. WOW!
Would I recommend it? I can sum it up this way: when you are looking for a remote, hidden gem of a place to get away from it all, and be royally pampered without any hint of pretension (after all, one of their mottos is "shoes are optional"), yet still have the option of partying and socializing (if you feel like it) in Firefly's great nightlife and great food with even BETTER service than the top rated places in the hottest cities in the world, then get yourself in touch with Liz and Stan and just cross your fingers that Firefly will have a room available.
I promise, it is NOT to be missed.
We love you Liz and Stan, Patrick, Arian, Rodney and the whole Firefly gang!!!!
