“Beautiful Setting”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

This Rocks restaurant is far up a hill with spectacular views and such a pretty setting in the evening with all the candles and lights lit. You feel like you're going to be in for a real treat. While we enjoyed our dinner here, something was just a bit off. The food was just ok, nothing spectacular to our palates and underseasoned. The service as well was not warm, more perfunctory than anything. We wanted to so enjoy this meal in such a wonderful beautiful place but that was not to be. Maybe we were just there on an off night because our experience doesn't seem to agree with more reviewers here.

“Worth the hike!”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Rode our bicycles from Charlestown up the hill so felt entitled to enjoy the calories and so we did. Excellent smoothies for starters and jumped in the pool for good measure to cool off and then was fortunate to get the corner table under the cupola that has the best view and is extremely romantic. Perhaps one of the nicest dining settings you will find. The grounds and view make a daytime meal mandatory vs an evening dinner. The lobster tails are tasty and the conch soup was savory. Excellent service from an attentive staff.

“great scenery and good food too!”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

they really keep the grounds of this "castle-like" experience in spectacular conditions! we wandered around a little bit after lunch and saw some monkeys right as you enter into the restaurant. really nice ambiance. The food was terrific as well. I had a goat cheese salad and my husband had the lobster sandwich. The food was good, not my favorite on the island, but definitely good. they had a good rum punch. go even just for the views! not the most expensive place on the island but four of us with drinks spent around $190 for drinks (we probably each had two) and our lunch.

“Best place for dinner on Nevis”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

We can't speak to the hotel or rooms, but our dinner at Golden Rock was great. The setting, including waterfall ponds, architecturally designed terraces built in local stone over old foundations with a wonderful view ( if there early enough to see it) were fantastic. Ditto the guy who said high design, boutique type place (ie: Tablet hotels style). The food was very good. Some dishes were excellent while others were a little funky. The wat staff had no issue with our six person group and many custom orders ( also made up some veggie dishes with the sides from sides of entrees for the none meat eaters). Peter, the new manager came to say a hello and welcome us and made sure we were all sorted. It was so good we went back for lunch the next day after the nature trail at GR.

“Delicious lunch with a stunning view”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Like everyone says the setting and view at Golden Rock are stunning. We had the place virtually to ourselves and enjoyed a well prepared lunch - yes I had the lobster sandwich!- which was charmingly served. The pool there looked lovely and we wished we had taken our swimsuits as there was no-one else there. We wished we could have eaten there in the evening too.
