“Cool place to relax”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We stopped in while riding around the island and had a few beers and some great brick oven pizza. Great place to relax, enjoy the view and eat some good pizza. Make sure you check out the live lobster tank and cool antique outboards.

“Great meal, great service, well worth a visit!”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

The restaurant was a short drive from our hotel so a great location. It's based on the edge of a holiday home complex and on the beach (Caribbean side).

There is a great menu and friendly staff - when the owner realised we were from England, he invited the chef out to chat to us and offered us a free glass of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon.

Next time we would visit for lunch as in the evening we didn't get to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings.

“OK food, terrible service”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

We visited for dinner based on recommendations of others who had visited and had enjoyed the place, but we experienced terrible service. I think our waitress was new and others were better but there were a catalogue of errors which left us feeling a bit sour about our visit. We ordered drinks and the waitress had to go to the bar to confirm whether they had bottled water. The water arrived at the table unopened and stayed that way until we caught her attention again. My wife ordered and two trips into the kitchen later the waitress was able to confirm was side dishes the courses came with. When the starters arrived mine (jerk chicken skewers) was missing (I don't think it had been written down). When it finally arrived it was quite tastless - tasted like the processed chicken you get at a low end Chinese restaurant. Lobster mains were excellent however and were very good sized portions. We were presented the bill before we'd had the opportunity to order any desserts. My wife had ordered a main course special as a starter-sized course, but we were charged for the main - just one error on a bill which had sribbled workings all over it. In the end we'd have enough and left feeling very disappointed with an ok meal, lacklustre service and at a cost greater than the meals we'd been taking in the Four Seasons hotel.

“Beachfront location Best on Nevis”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

With the beach immediately in front of the Yachtsman...a great, sandy, swimable beach....we found the seasonally re-opened restaurant sparkling in all respects. The decor/furnishings, attententive staff, wide selection of menu offerings (thankyou, Chef Kathy and kitchen crew) and genuine hospitality of the owner, found us ticking all the category boxes of what we like in a dining experience. The wood fired pizza oven and pizza "artist" hand crafting the thin crust pies(priced from US$12 - $19) should appeal to many. Yachtsman is only one of five true beachfront dining experiences on Nevis. Prior to or after lingering over lunch or dinner, taking a stroll along the soft sand beach (even going for a swim) is an added bonus. Cheers, Richard.

“Excellent food and location”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

We were initially put off as they are doing some building work at the side of the restaurant but I'm glad we went. You aren't aware of the building work when you're there and the view out to sea is delightful. The staff are really friendly and the food is great. Visit lunchtimes and take your swimmies with you for a dip in the sea. Some great snorkelling (fish, shells, starfish in abundance). We had a great lunch and went back for Friday night dinner. Would happily go again.
