Good news: beautiful sheltered beach with a view to St Kitts. Shady trees are plentiful.
Bad news: We tried the restaurant twice, which both times were a disaster. The prices are about the same as other excellent places down the coast.
First time we had fish of the day: Marlin that was thinly sliced and consistency of jerky ,and served with fries and other uninspiring fillers. Second meal: a Sunday lunch barbecue with choice of 2 items out of 3 ( fish, chicken, pork ribs). To be honest: except for the fish we thought the ribs and chicken might have been reheated from last barbecue. The little meat that was barely discernible was withered and dry..... the rest was basically charcoal.
The stomach, however, got full on plenty of rice, Spagetti an coleslaw.
Over priced to say the least and not coming back any time soon. Too bad because the place is really nice.
So 5 stars for the beach and 1 for the restaurant, which definitely need a tune up comparing with the rest of the bunch.

We enjoyed our stay at Oualie beach! The rooms were beautiful and you are right on the beach. The resort is beautifully green and it's an eco resort. Don't expect a power shower, though!
Breakfast was great, lots of choices and delicious.
Would definitely stay here again, when visiting Nevis!

Oualie Beach Hotel is situated on the beach and has some breath-taking views. From there you can easily spot Nevis’s sister island St. Kitts in the distance.
Whether you’re dining, sipping cocktails, or simply liming you will be doing this the moment you arrived at the resorts. Oualie has a collection of cottages on the beachfront and gardens at the front entrance of the resort near the car parking area.
I understand that the resort has 32 rooms which give it an exclusive yet very friendly feel in the surroundings. I would say that the hotel has a more casual feeling and is well located on the beachfront. The staff is very friendly, they can assist you and give you recommendations around the island.
There is a nice dining area where you can sit in the restaurant veranda for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have live music on Tuesday nights, where you can relax with your cocktails and enjoy a barbecue.

It is a beautiful sandy beach and cove with shallow waters which is great for non or nervous swimmers like me. The waves just lap on the sand, not crash and drag you under, so safe for children too. There are lots of sun beds, but if you are not a resident at the resort, it is only courteous to buy lunch or drinks at the great beach bar, in return for their staff keeping the beach so clean. The beach bar always has great live music on a Tuesday night to which non residents are always welcome. Don’t be surprised if you see green vervet monkeys, sheep, cows, goats and donkeys sharing an often deserted beach with you. If staying in St Kitts a water taxi from Cockleshell/Reggae beach will bring you straight there. This is our 5th stay on this beach since 2015, and apart from lunch out sometimes, we rarely visit any other beach. Why is it OUR special beach? Well we got married on it in Dec 2015 by Judge Yasmine Clarke under the palm trees and a flower arch made by the hotel’s gardeners.
