Owner description: Greg was born and brought up on St. Kitts and Nevis and following his return home from College in Nova Scotia Canada in 1980, started working at his Parents hotel, the Ocean Terrace Inn, with one of his jobs being to do tours for the hotels guests. While growing up on St. Kitts, Greg's parents became leaders in the local Tourism Industry, starting one of the first hotels in the islands, with Greg's Dad, eventually receiving the "Order of the British Empire" (OBE), from the St. Kitts Government for his outstanding achievements in local Industry. This has given Greg a unique grounding as well as a deep sense of understanding for his home country and coupled with his tourism training abroad, has allowed him to become one of leading and longest serving tour guides in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Greg and his team of certified Tour Guides have won many awards from the Tourism Authority for their businesses high standards of service. From the very beginning Greg has used modified, 4X4 Land Rovers to do his "unique" island Safaris with. Being specially made, the 8 Land Rovers he uses today, are all open sided with mostly forward facing, stadium orientated seating, that provide his guests with the best way to experience exploring beyond the shores of St. Kitts and Nevis. Greg's Safaris is the only tour company in the Federation that uses 4X4 Land Rovers for touring on both islands! For your private, half days hiking pleasure, Greg has created two "unique looped hiking trails", one at the Phillips Mountain Valley (2 miles long), and at the other at the Wingfield River Valley (2 1/2 miles long), on St. Kitts. His company is also the only one on St. Kitts to offer driving tours from coast to coast through the lushly forested interior and while traveling through the mountains his guests would have access to a private 5 acre "mountain top property", perched1000 feet sea level, a place of cool temperatures and breathtaking views, that can only be experienced on a "one of kind" 4X4 Safari Tour with him and his guides. Greg is one of the founding members of the St. Christopher National Trust and as well, sits on the Central Forest Reserve National Park Committee. He is also a Life Member of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Brimstone Hill National Park and is also part owner of Sky Safaris, a company he started in 2009.

We are a family of 5 and used Greg's Safari's for our recent Rainforest Hike. The ages in our party range from 66 to 19. The Safari begins with a tour as Greg drives you up into the area when you begin to hike from. He explains things about the island, the history, the local economy, etc. Whenyou arrive at the base of the hike site he goes over what you will be doing. We loved that he took the tour at the pace of the slowest person so that everyone was together and no one was left behind. He takes you on a path he has made himself over the years, that no other tours go to. It is just his. Along the hike he stops and explains things, tells you about the forest, and points things out. When the group returns to the base of the hike site, there is a wonderful snack waiting. Ours was fresh local fruits, a pastry, fruit juices and rum. He takes photos with the members of the tour, talks, and after the little party everyone climbs back into the land rover and he returns back down the mountain to where he picked you up, or to a shopping area if you prefer.

We booked a 1/2 day rainforest hike through our hotel. Dion, our driver and guide was friendly and very knowledgable. The hike was easy for my husband and I. The rainforest is absolutely stunning. Dion, had a great picnic basket with rum punch, fresh fruit, local pastries and when my husband asked if he could try to sugarcane .. Dion, got the sugarcane from the farm we were stopped at and cut some fresh cane for us. AMAZING!

All of the reviews are accurate, Greg:s passion and knowledge make this a good tour, a little short, so i found it a little on the expensive side compared to other tours we've done. Missing were the "extras" that make a good tour great. Hills and mud mean you need to be in reasonable shape, not recommended if you are not.

Due to rainy weather, our plans changed. Happily ended up on Greg's Safari's 4x4 Jeep Adventure and Beach Swim via our cruise. As mentioned, Greg is very passionate and knowledgeable about the rainforest, history of St. Kitts/Nevis and region as a whole. Our driver 'Clever' (Joseph) was great. We enjoyed a tour of the island's rainforest interior and then a swim at Frigate Bay. Only wish we had more time there to enjoy the beach, snorkel, etc.

Our group of 5 was on a Seabourn cruise starting in St. Martin and ending in Barbados. I booked the 4x4 open air Rainforest hike online based on reviews on TripAdvisor. I reconfirmed before we left for the cruise. Greg met us at the cruise terminal and escorted us to our vehicle. Joseph was our guide and he was excellent. The hike into the rainforest was wonderful and very interesting. I really enjoyed seeing the variety of plant life in the rainforest. It was a moderately difficult hike but very rewarding. The lunch that we had after the hike was nice also. This was a fun activity and something different to do on a Caribbean island.
