I have tripadvisor to thank for our absolute PERFECT day at Palms Court Gardens & Restaurant! Upon leaving our cruise ship, we went to the information desk at port and asked for directions to Palms Court Gardens & Restaurant on Wilkin Street. The attendant provided us with a diagram mapping out our course. It was a 15 minute trek at the most. Initially, I was a little reluctant, as the area seemed a bit down-trodden, however, once we about half-way to our destination, we met a police officer while on post who was kind enough to share that we were heading in the right direction. Upon entrance to Palms Court Gardens & Restaurant, we were greeted by a warm attendant, sharing that we were to come in and make ourselves comfortable and that Debbie would see to our needs (Which she certainly did....thank you, Debbie!).

Let me first say that when I entered the grounds I knew that we had hit the jackpot....that this was a beautiful spot and the perfect way to spend our time away from our ship...and away from tons of people. My husband and I had the place to ourselves for about an hour. We were even able to have a wonderful conversation with the owner, who was nothing but gracious in sharing his story about how Palms Court Gardens came about, but also sending us over some freshly cut papaya. Our day just continued to get better, having freshly squeezed juice, a fabulous lunch on their outdoor patio restaurant, gorgeous views and a luscious landscape, a few drinks from their darling tiki-bar, fabulous...soothing music, a beautiful infinity-pool and hot tub and spectacular service...this was the absolute perfect escape. The only problem we had....leaving.

Do not miss this opportunity for the perfect spot! We'll undoubtedly be back. Thank you to the owner and his fabulous staff!

A fabulous location with a stunning view. Service was attentive and prompt. Only a short, simple 15 minutes walk from our cruise ship. Food and beverages were spot-on. Simply an AMAZING experience!!

The gardens and views are truly worth the effort. Many island exotics grow in this lush, walled oasis. Although we were not guests (yes, there is a second floor guest house with impressive views of the pool and port of Basseterre) we could appreciate the opportunity to stay here. There is a $2 USD donation per person going for education.

Beautiful place to spend a day or an hour or two overlooking the sea. We made a reservation with them on-line so we had our pick of the sun-beds by the lovely infinity pool and whirlpool surrounded by the lovely gardens that you could also walk around, a snip at $10 each. They also had a bar and a restaurant that did light lunches, and I believe a one bedroomed guest house on site. It only took about 10 minutes to walk along the front from the cruise terminal, past the bus station (with reggae music blasting out!), the open air market, and people cooking on stalls in the street. Very colourful indeed and no hassle whatsoever from the locals on the way there or back.
