Visited here as part of a cruise excursion while visting St Kitts. Beautifully maintained grounds. Not alot of time is not necessary to visit this property but beautiful photo ops are abundant.

We were taken to Romney Manor by our cab driver P.J. who was taking us on a day tour of the island and its sight. The place and gardens were lovely. We got to see a 400 year old Samman tree that branched out in front of the ruins of the old plantation. If only that tree could talk about the history it has seen. Now housed within Romney manor is Caribelle Batik factory. This is a process where they dye patterns on to fabric using wax to protect the area where you don't want the dye to take. After a short presentation of this process you can buy the products that are made there. They have wonderful caftans, beach cover-ups, and summer dresses, along with just about anything else you might desire that can be made of fabric. Only downside---the road to get there is steep and narrow. Luckily it is only one way in and one way out. The forest surrounding this road is beautiful. It looks like a jungle.

We stopped at Romney Manor as part of our tour with Grey's Island Excursions on a cruise ship stop. It was a truly beautiful place, you can tell they take great pride in maintaining everything there. Definitely worth a visit.

Visiting the Wingfield estate and Romney manor was one of the highlights of our trip. We have two children aged 7 and 3 and so for now our jungle hikes are on hold. The great thing about the Wingfield estate and Romney manor is that the site allows you to brush the edge of the rainforest (we saw pearly eyed thrashers and hummingbirds) while also experiencing a slice of proper island history. We drove to Wingfield estate and walked up to see the gardens and batik at Romney manor, it's an easy 5 min stroll with small children. The cruisers come in locust like waves and go straight to Romney manor, if you have your own car do what we did or get a taxi to take you. The zip wire is next door and the petroglyphs are on the road up to the estate/manor. If you aren't part of a cruise based tour then make a leisurely half day of it. Be warned though, there is no food to be had other than crisps so take your own if you have children.

One warning. There are unofficial guides/grafters who will attempt to extricate dollars for church based activities/photos etc. politely turn them down!

This place was a part of an Island Tour so we had a stop there anyway , I wouldn't make an effort to just go to this place though. It was a beautiful garden packed with tourist and all the souvenir stuff that they try to sell to you and that was about it! It was okay.
