“Small, but nice.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2014

This is a very small botanical garden, but the biggest on the island. The other 'gardens' are really just yards, and not very big yards at that. The brochure says it is eight acres. You see only two acres if you count the parking lot. They are also supposed to have orchids. They only had one. But it is a nice walk and the Batik painting is pretty and interesting. They are closed on Sundays. Thier website, phone message etc never tell you this. Also, they don't give you times of operation.

“Botanical and beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Romney Manor. The first thing that struck me upon arrival was the lovely scent in the air from the beautiful gardens as it is situated on the lush rain forest side of the island. The plantation house is now the site of Caribelle Batik, where one has the opportunity to buy genuine island made products. I found the staff to be very helpful in accessorizing a beautiful batik dress with a marching scarf and jewellery. The giant bolts of batik cloth hanging outside in the sun provided the most beautiful and memorable photo of our visit.

“Busy, but interesting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2014

Crazy busy the day we arrived. Our tour van couldn't even find a parking spot so he let us off while he waited for a spot. The batik itself was interesting to see how it was made, and there is plenty of designs for sale.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2014

A beautiful setting for this old plantation house which now houses a batik factory. It's truly stunning and the batik making process is interesting and there is huge temptation to purchase products. There is an amazing tree to view and grounds to wander round. It's not huge but spend an hour or so - lovely.
