“The View is Breathtaking”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

The Shipwreck is a Beach Bar located on the Southern end of St. Kitt's. It has some of the best views in the world. The food is good, the view is incredible and the prices are reasonable especially when compared to Reggae Beach Bar at the southern tip of the island. You can spend the day on their beach chairs free of charge. Enjoy daily drink specials, swim, snorkel or lay back and read a book and have lunch/dinner whenever the mood hits you. No better way to spend a day in paradise.

“An excellent spot!”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

The monkey family is worth the visit. There are 10-15 that come down from the hills to eat at about 5pm. Very entertaining. Have the conch fritters and a Carib and enjoy the view. Don't forget water sports with Michael and Chris - headquartered at the far end of Shipwreck. Friendly staff.

“Skip it if you are looking for something unique”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Went here for lunch. There was nothing interesting or unique about it. It is located on the water but when eating in the restaurant there isn't a great view. It was crowded, service was only fair, and they were playing too loud music that you would hear at home. The menu was decent and the food was fine, nothing special. Their section of the beach is jammed with chairs and people. It is a thin strip of beach. There is a souvenir stand and "wild" monkeys. (My guess is they are fed so the tourists can get close an take pictures.) IMO both added to the tackiness of the restaurant. We didn't realize that if you walked down, the beach widened a bit and the people thinned out. About half way up the beach we saw Sunset Beach, a small bar with a few tables and loungers, no people, and quiet island music playing. We stopped for a drink. Lyndell made us two delicious drinks, served in glasses and a smile and we sat and enjoyed a beautiful undisturbed view of the beach and water. His mother was also there and they were serving food. Since we had already eaten we didn't try anything but wished we happened upon this place before the Shipwreck.

The Shipwreck is probably great for lots of people ( many patrons were having a lot of fun) but if you are looking for something different try Sunset Beach.

“Great Island Atmosphere”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

We've had lunch here twice - once during our first visit to St. Kitts as a family in 2011 and again this year on our return trip. The place has a great island atmosphere - very scenic and very laid back. It is essentially a Tiki Bar with the beach and the Caribbean on one side and lush vegetation with lots of monkeys on the other. They leave food out for the monkeys, so you always see many of them. We returned this year for the atmosphere. I have no recollection of really, really enjoying the food in 2011. However, this year I was incredibly impressed with the food. It was it was all just great, including their conch fritters, nachos, grilled grouper platter and fish tacos with grouper, which very well may have been the best fish tacos I have ever had. Service is very good and the people are friendly. Prices are modest. Definitely worth a visit when you are in St. Kitts..

“AMAZING!!!”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

Great little bar and beach. Super friendly staff, deadly drinks and a view to die for. Watch out for the sea urchins. Like the sign says... a small prick often offends. Nuff nuff niceness.
