Once again, this is a local treasure with beautiful views and gardens. We so enjoyed our time with Local leaders including then Labour member of parliament Dwyer Astaphan and hearing from Prime Minister Douglas and Deputy Prime Minister Sam Condor. We were always treated so nicely by both PAM and Labour and wish them all a vibrant Democracy.

Visited on a cruise ship day so expected it to be busy but there was only 1 other car and a van. Drive up to the property was easy but first impression was not good at all. Alongside the road of a big open space where we parked there was a long line of small plants and a palm tree all dried up and looked dead.
The plants by the steps could do with a lot of care and attention and definitely watering. The hut at the top was empty and no staff to be seen any where in sight. Saw some ponds to the left and wandered over to take a look but not worth it as they were filthy in need of a good clean and no fish in them just some bees looking for a drink . Walked up the stairs to a restaurant, no one eating and saw a couple by the pool. The kitchen door was open so I asked if there was a guide to show us around and she said check by the office and told us how to get there. Have a guess no one in the office. We decided to walk around on our own.
The Great House is newly built ( but whilst walking around already in need of repair) with the original stone foundation. Rooms brightly painted but for me impersonal and characterless. The gift shop was sparsely stocked, dark (even though it was lighted) and had a stale odour.
Botanical Gardens - certainly not and many many of the plants were covered with bugs and struggling all together, a sorry sight for me being a very enthusiastic gardener myself.
Would not recommend.

This was one of the major highlights from out cruise excursions. The tour was fun and informative. Some of the best Rum I've ever tasted. Lovely people. A must see if you go to St Kitts

My husband and I drove up early to the house and were rewarded by being the only visitors. The young lady who greeted us at the front gate was extremely welcoming and gave us a bit of background regarding the house. The restoration is fantastic and has obviously been done with love and care, you can feel the history in the rooms. The bath house is amazing and a wonderful way to have a warm bath! The gardens are gorgeous and it is really helpful that all of the plants and trees have notices telling you what they are. There was a couple of tour parties came along over the next couple of hours but we had the pool to ourselves, we had coffee on the lawn looking out onto the Caribbean and it was heavenly. We had lunch in the restaurant which was very good and very reasonable. All of the staff were lovely and made this a truly memorable day - I would highly recommend it.

We visited the Great House early one morning, it was very quiet and tranquil. Our guide gave us a five minute talk about the Great House and then left us to wander and explore on our own. The house has been very tastefully restored, with original furnishings, and the gardens contain many interesting plants.
We only had coffee in the restaurant, but it is a magnificent setting for that special meal. Well worth an hours detour.
