I am not sure what else I can say to go along with what most other folks have said here about the cottage. If I could give it 6 stars I would!
A friend and I stayed there for nearly three weeks. We went to Cayman Brac for the amazing rock climbing the little island has to offer. The island is supremely laid back, so this is truly a spot if you’re looking for some down time from…well, everything.
We picked the cottage due to the high ratings given on this site and as I have already alluded, were not let down. The cottage has everything you need, is clean, quiet and comfortable. Sue is an awesome host and if you are willing to get out and meet some folks, she knows everyone, so, don’t be shy.
We also explored most of the island and I will guarantee that you will not find a more private, hand sifted, beautiful beach. With amazing sunrises AND sunsets, her location is perfect. As mentioned in other reviews, the snorkeling is also fantastic and safe due to the natural protection of the reef not far off the shoreline…and it’s all 50 paces out the front door. Not to mention it is very close (you can see it) to the beer/liquor store, and a fun little bar/restaurant called the Captain’s Table. Actually, you are close to just about everything this beautiful little island has to offer.
If you want to really see the island though, I recommend renting a vehicle, Sue knows some folks and will be happy to help. You can get a discount just from simply staying at the cottage.
Once again, I couldn’t speak more highly of the cottage, location, and genuine hospitality that Sue and really everyone we met through her showed us. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Thank you soooo much Sue, we hope to see you sooner than later!
Dave
Have just got home to England where the M25 motorway was a huge shock to the system after a fortnight in Cayman Brac with no traffic, noise or mayhem.
Sue's Cottage is just lovely. Sitting on our own private beach every afternoon after either diving with Brac Scuba Shack or just exploring the island or snorkling was just too addictive - we couldn't be any where else.
Sue gives renters exclusive use of the sandy beach, complete with sun loungers and additional chairs. The beach is sheltered by the reef so swimming is safe and easy. The only thing you have to worry about is not putting your lounger under one of the many coconut trees, just in case a ripe one decides to use gravity. We cut open a few while we were there and they were fantastic.
The location of the Cottage is also ideal. Walkable to a couple of restaurants and very close to Brac Scuba Shack. We'd recommend this dive operation over Reef Divers (who we dived with for just one day as Brac Scuba Shack had their boat in for maintenance that day). Brac Scuba Shack limits the number of divers and provides a much better, more personal service.
You'll need a car on the Brac for exploring and for visiting the supermarkets and restaurants. We liked the following restaurants which were more authentically local: Barry's Golden Jerk, Pat's Kitchen and Star Island. Each excellent and less expensive than others. Whilst Brac Reef Resort is also good - it's more expensive and touristy.
In the Cotttage itself. it is clean and has everything that we needed or wanted. We used the air conditioning the first night, but then realised we didn't need it as the through breeze was really nice as an alternative. Where there were small problems (not that we saw them as such as everything was fine), Sue was on hand to resolve immediately.
We brought our kindles for reading, but there is also a large selection of books in the cottage if you need to top up on reading material.
So if you are thinking of coming to the Cayman Islands and want seclusion - I'd come here. The beach, the lifestyle and the peace are idyllic.

We stayed in the Cottage for two weeks during our last visit to the Brac and could not have asked for anything more. The property is kept immaculate by Sue, super clean and comfortable. You have access to a washer & dryer which is great and there are more than enough beach towels to use.
The beach is just a few steps away from the door and you have it all to yourself. We really enjoyed watching the Sand Crabs, Seagulls and the Ray swimming by on most mornings.
The Brac Scuba Shack is just a few minutes down the road if you want to go diving or snorkeling. Martin, Liesel, Phil & Roxanne will make sure that you have a great experience.
If you decide you want to do some cooking while there, the kitchen is very well equipped. We ate most of our meals at the Star Island Restaurant, great food, huge portions and Nicole and Glenn will take good care of you. The Captains Table Restaurant & Bar is literally no more than a five minutes walk away and there is also a Liquor Store a few more steps away.
This is a great place to stay on the Island, we hope to be back soon.

We have stayed in a lot of cottages in the Caribbean; this is the best equipped one yet. We will sometimes buy an inexpensive kitchen item and leave it - cheese grater, garlic press, or something like that. I could not come up with a single item that we couldn't find on site. The bathroom includes insect repellents, sun screens, even contact lens solution - just in case you forgot something. The kitchen had everything we could imagine needing. The cottage is clean and neat. And Sue even pressed us for any suggestions for how to improve it. But she is not an intrusive manager. She made it clear that the cottage and the beach were ours and that she would be out of the way. She was true to her word, but available on site if needed. She is also a very congenial host. With a little encouragement, we did get her to visit with us a bit and enjoyed her company as well as her experience on the island.
The property, including beachfront, is well maintained. Adjacent properties have rocks down to the water and the flotsam that shows up. Not so at Sue's place. She removed the rocks long ago leaving a sandy beach and she keeps the debris picked up. Chairs and lounges on the beach have small tables for coffee cup, beer, rum glass, book, camera, etc. And she will remind you not to sit (or park) directly under the coconuts. The trees make good shade, but you don't want a coconut falling on you. Beach is beautiful. Swimming and snorkeling good but bring water shoes; all the islands have sea urchins that you'd rather not step on.
There are dive shops and restaurants less than a mile away, at least one restaurant in walking distance. We used the kitchen on the property, so can't say anything about restaurants. Liquor store in walking distance - we took Sue's advice to bring our own rum at about 1/2 the cost of the island supply. Grocery store about 2 miles away (near the airport). There is a bigger and better supplied grocery (Kirkconnell) on the north side in Stake Bay. Ask when fresh produce comes in.

My boyfriend and I rented Sue's Cayman cottage for a wonderfully relaxing vacation and we highly recommend staying here! The cottage was perfect for us - clean and comfortable with a great seating area outside, close by to restaurants and stores. Sue's beach is gorgeous... private, well kept, with wonderful views of the sunsets. She made our stay very comfortable and was such a nice person to meet.

Most of the food guides for Cayman Brac (the Brac) were near the advertised ratings. A lot of the listed food services have moved or changed their names. They are also hard to find unless we went the "Ask Sue where it is?"
Prior ratings specific for the Cottage were also very close.
The owner / manager Sue is working very hard to keep her "very good" plus rating on the property. If you need something ask, and the rental car shows up at the door.
With the up front notice that The Brac is not the casino crowd and disco atmosphere it was as advertised and was great for my wife and I and the level of peace and quiet of the beach and trails of the Brac.
My wife loved the visit and this was her vacation.
