Cave locations are posted off the roadside and "most" have ladders with railings. All ladders are sturdy but several treads need to be re-nailed. Some of the interpretive signs had been vandalized and others cut off at their base. Reason unknown. Remember to wear good sturdy shoes and carry a flashlight.

There are many caves on the Brac. We explored 4 of them ranging from easy to access to hard to access. They included Rebecca's Cave(easy), Bat Cave(easy), Great Cave(a little trickier to access) and Neptune Lair (super hard to find and access). The caves were really hot and humid so bring water, a flash light and wear light clothes.

Knowing the history behind the Rebecca Cave and seeing It was a mind boggling experience. The cave is well kept and is the home to many bats living on the island. This place is just simply beautiful and peaceful. My journey was too short too explore the hold island, but by the grace of God I will be back.

I went to Rebecca's Cave, an easy bike ride from our hotel, the Cayman Brac Beach Resort. Named after an 18 month old girl who died during a terrible hurricane, it has served as a hurricaine shelter for residents. It made me think about what it must be like to be on this tiny, isolated, wonderful island in horrible weather. Totally non-touristy, and worth a quick visit.
I also visited the Bat Cave, not far away. Unfortunately, no bats, and no Bruce Wayne. But it is a nice cave complex. Bats definitely live there, as evidence by piles of guano in little recesses along the cave roof. Very nice limestone formations. Bring a flashlight if you want to explore deep into the caves.
