“Fantastic”
Reviewed September 30, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the last few years and can say that for us this is probably the best! It is very comfortable and well furnished, warm and spacious.
If I was ever sentenced to a period of house arrest this is where I would want to serve my time! (Though I would miss the getting out on the Lleyn Peninsula where the beaches for my money are even better than any in the UK)!

Liked best: The solitude
Liked least: Rather a long drive from Leicester but in the long run is worth it!

“Fabulously located, with stunning views, a windswept garden and heaps of character.”
Reviewed August 17, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We had a fabulous stay at Ysgubor Bach this August. The house is well appointed, with everything you'd need to make a holiday with children run smoothly. (Love the hose pipe by the back door for washing down the wetsuits!). Everything is finished to a high standard and the hosts were welcoming and very approachable via email, and in person.
(The bean grinding coffee machine was a holiday hi light for me!).
We loved the area, and will be sure to return soon.

“Great Holiday House”

This property is one of the best we have stayed in. Family of 4 - plenty of space for two boys (aged 9 and 12), and a labradoodle. Very well appointed house, with everything you need. Secure outdoor space is ideal for dogs. The owners, who were very friendly, are right next door, which is great if you need them, but the layout and outdoor space of the two properties, means you have your own privacy, and look out onto fields. Its a 20-25 minute walk along country roads to the village of Abadaron, and a similar walk in the other direction to the beautiful beach of Whistling Sands. The location of Aberdaron at the end of the peninsular gives access to lovely country and coastal scenery, but means a drive of around 20 minutes to the other local villages and about 40 minutes to the nearest town. The only downside for us, was that the local beaches have restrictions for dogs, not something we are used to on the lovely coast of south east Scotland. That said, Aberdaron, is a lovely location and the house is fantastic.

“Great holiday house in amazing location, just as good as last year”
Reviewed June 15, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed at this property exactly a year ago and couldn't wait to return with my parents as well as are two children this time. The house is ideally located above Aberdaron which is a great location providing a beach, good spar with excellent meat counter, fish n chip shops and cafés and pubs providing for most of your needs ( tho we did stock up mid week at waitrose on visit to Anglesey, and there is an Asda in Pwllheli that delivers).

The house was as excellent as last year, indeed the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. It has 4 bedrooms, one spacious with ensuite, another double, a twin and one with bunk beds. As well as the ensuite there is a further shower room and a bathroom. Downstairs a large farmhouse kitchen, useful utility room, open plan living / dining room and a conservatory. We were 4 adults and a 5 and 3 year old and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. We had great fun in the large garden and enjoyed meals outside on the terrace. There are views across fields to the sea beyond and we all slept v well, it was so peaceful and quiet.
Only 5 mins drive away is Whistling Sands beach with a lovely cafe serving great breakfasts and lunches. abersoch also recommend with several beaches, nice shops and lots of eating places. In an hour and a half you can be on Angelesey so perfect for a day trip further afield.

Cannot recommend highly enough and the owners Simon and Irina are very friendly and live next door which is reassuring if needed.

Liked best: The location is great and the house perfect to get away from it all
Liked least: Only minor point, we sometimes struggled to read in the evenings as lighting in living room and bedrooms not especially bright.

“A lovely relaxing holiday in a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location”
Reviewed June 11, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Dear Simon and Irina, thank you again for another wonderful week at Ysgubor Bach. We had a lovely time. This is our third year back and looking to book again next year. The cottage was as warm and cosy as ever, very clean and tidy and very comfortable beds. The weather was great - 4 days of full sun, no rain at all, whereas I was told back in Birmingham that it had rained all week! We were 2 families staying today - 4 adults, 4 children and a baby so the cot and stair gate were so useful. Thank you so much. Hope to be back again next year.

Liked best: Log fire, comfortable beds, big screen TV, WiFi, large dining table
Liked least: A couple of very minor things - no locks on bathroom doors, thin bedroom curtain so very light in mornings and at bedtime for young children.

“Beautiful cottage in a stunning location”
Reviewed May 3, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We enjoyed such a lovely Easter holiday at Ysgubor Bach last year we had to do it all over again this year! We weren't disappointed. The cottage is lovely and spacious, the conservatory perfect for sitting and relaxing. We had different family members join us for a few days during the week - all were impressed with the location and accommodation. Simon and Irena go out of their way to make you feel welcome and little extra touches such as a pint of milk in the fridge and bottle of wine on the table make such a difference. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and houses around this area, this one is definitely the best.

“Lovely cottage in stunning location , highly recommended”
Reviewed September 5, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We stayed at the cottage for a week in early June with our 2 young children aged 4 and 2. The property was v child friendly with stair gates, high chair and cot provided, all of a very high standard and they loved the bunk beds. There was lots of room and different areas to relax in the house , and this is the best holiday house we have stayed in. We enjoyed barbecues on the patio and playing in the large garden. The weather was lovely the first few days and we explored the local beaches, Whistling Sands is less than 10 mins away- amazing. When it rained later in the week there are plenty of castles to explore from Criccieth to Beuamaris and Carnaevon. If you enjoy good beer then the Purple Moose brewery in Porthmadog is a must. Aberdaron is a lovely village to explore with great fish and chips. We will definitely return now we ave found this gem. Simon and Irina are great hosts.
