Although fairly pricey as we stayed at the weekend and during the summer holidays a year or so back, we had a lovely nights stay with the sounds of the waves lulling us to sleep. I booked the break on a hot sunny day, needless to say on the day of our stay it was cold and wet, typically British!

The room we stayed in faced the sea and had a single bed as well as the double, the bed was very comfortable. The room had been updated and the bathroom was also very modern with a heated mirror. We felt as though we were in a luxury hotel. The only thing that marred the nights sleep was that we had to open a window because it was hot and the air conditioning unit from the kitchens kept us awake for some of the night. I'd love to look into going back to stay a couple of nights out of season in the week, when it is cheaper .

We had an evening meal in the hotel, which I was glad I had pre booked as they were very busy, from what I can remember it was good. the ales were also good.

A memorable stay.

Don't miss a romantic walk along the beach.

Room Tip: Choose a sea facing room

After a long ride, not knowing if there was a place to stay, we ended up here. There was a beautiful room, overlooking the beach/sea available so we took it - and we were more than pleased.
The beach, views, skies are spectacular but also the beer tasted fine and the full welsh brekkie was excellent.
I want to explicitly mention the quality of the evening meal! We ordered a salmon meal, expecting your normal pub-meal quality meal. We were however very surprised to be presented with a truly wonderful meal with all the side-dishes you could desire.

Great room, fine bed and spacious bathroom. Furthermore, there was wifi, credit card facilities and a parking lot 50 meters away.

I would advise making a reservation because it's a long drive to anything as good as this!

We spent 3 nights in a family room with a fab sea view. The room was not plush but there was enough space for the 4 of us and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and courteous most of the time. The food was pub food but it was very tasty. We ate there on 2 evenings and the sea bass I had on one evening was beautifully cooked and I thought price was fine. I would stay here again as I liked the easy access to the beach and I love the llyn peninsula. The children enjoyed staying here as well. It would have been nice to have had a welcoming lounge area for coffee etc. the only sofas appeared to be by the reception but they were well worn and not very inviting.

My wife and I initially drove through this village as we could find nowhere to park. The council has gone mad with yellow lines all over the few streets that make up the place. We came back downhill & 'discovered' the badly positioned car park, not far from the hotel.
We enjoyed exploring the village and the Gwesty Ty Newydd hotel, especially the views out to sea only yards away from the bar & eatery. A good range of beers that included some tasty local real ales but, apart from a choice of local crab or lobster, the menu was a typical pub grub effort, and far from cheap.
Beer was good, food very ordinary and service (from the young barman) matched the meal. A missed opportunity to shine and take advantage of this lovely location.

Spent a couple of days there, one of which was when 165mph winds were recorded in Scottish mountains. Felt not far off that on the cliffs and when "walking"[sic] on Hells Mouth beach. Strangely, both were deserted...but what a welcome safe haven the hotel proved to be! The room, the view, the food and the staff, all beyond reproach. As a veggie, my menu choices are always more limited than those of the omnivores. That said, I would recommend either of my meals to anyone. They were superb. Definitely one of our favourite places-especially in a storm!

Room Tip: Treat yourselves to the"Love" suite...
