Stayed here 4-7 April and although we had already booked a prestige van we were delighted on check-in to have been upgraded to a privilege! What an absolutely stunning van too, with an ensuite and a dishwasher! We had rung beforehand and requested to be in a quiet part, well away from the facilities and we were delighted to find we were down on Sandy Lane - bliss. The beach access was just up from us but we weren't bothered by anyone coming or going at all. Lovely views of the mountains and the beach is just beautiful, miles of sand in both directions.
The check-in staff were so friendly, no queuing at all. Beth-ann was so lovely and a genuinely lovely person. She remembered us every time we walked past and always shouted a cheery hello and an enquiry about whether we were having fun.
We didn't purchase the park passes for the adults as it is not our cup of tea, but we did buy them for our teenagers so they could use the pool. In fairness on arrival the security chap did let the 4 of us go up for a look around as I wanted to see the pool for myself before letting our youngsters use it. We didn't realise there was a huge arcade there, but it is passed the security area so you will need to buy passes to use it. Also the restaurant is in that area too, which I thought was strange as it immediately prevented us from eating there during our stay, so we went out and spent our money elsewhere. It wasn't a big deal but it was raining most of the time we were there and it may have been that we didn't want to go out.
We did have fish and chips from the onsite place called 'Cooks' - it was delicious. Yes it was overpriced but the chips were some of the best we have ever had. The chap did miss part of my order off though and luckily I realised before trekking back to the van, otherwise hubby would have had half his tea missing!
The park itself is large, exceptionally clean and seems very well laid out. It was nowhere near full during our trip and I can imagine it gets a lot noisier in high season but it was great when we were there. The on site shop was extremely well stocked but very overpriced. The young lady who works in there was always chatty and cheerful when we went in. There is an aldi and a lidl in Porthmadog though if you don't want to pay the prices.
We would definitely go here again, but as its a long drive for us (4hrs) we would like to stay longer next time.
All in all a great trip where we got to relax in luxury in a lovely setting with friendly staff.
Would we return - definitely, already planning for later in the year!
