“Best honeymoon destination!”
Reviewed June 19, 2011

My new husband and i recently spent 5 wonderful days at Southern Cross Club for our honeymoon. From the moment we stepped off the plane until the moment we were dropped off at the airport to go home, everything was wonderful. I can't begin to describe the service that we received from the staff at SCC. Everyone knew our names, regularly checked in with us to see how our stay was going, and genuinely cared about what we wanted to get our of our vacation. We did not dive, but my husband went out snorkeling with the dive boat. He came back amazed at the things that they saw. From what other guests told us, the diving is some of the best in the world (and that was in comparison to locations such as Hawaii, Bahamas, and Mexico). During our stay we had a cozy and comfortable room (which we spent little time in), hammocks to relax in, a pool to cool off in, and 3 phenomenal meals each day. We can't say enough about the food!!! We had a breakfast buffet every morning with an egg station, french toast, pancakes, bacon, and lighter options like bagels, yogurt and cereal. Lunches ranged from chicken quesadillas to burgers, salad stations, pasta salads, fresh fruit and veggies, and a homemade cookie at the end (or 3). Dinners were served buffet style or plated depending on the night, and there was always a land and a sea option. Cayman style mahi mahi, grilled stuffed chicken, roast beef, pan seared tuna. Chef Ron is truly amazing! Don't just take our word for it...GO! Whether you want a quiet vacation to escape the bustling city, or a vacation packed with kayaking, diving, and bike riding, you'll find it here. We are already talking about our next visit!

Staff, food, diving, fishing were fantastic. We made some great new friends and are sad we will have to wait another year to return. The most exciting part was following 5 sperm whales for almost two hours. A mother and her daughter finally joined up with the rest of the group - got within 30 feet of them. Who needs Hawaii or Alaska. If you want to relax and really relax this is the place to go and if you want to dive, fish, and now follow the whales, Southern Cross Club is the only destination.

We stayed at the SCC for 5 nights only as part of our 3 week trip to the Cayman Islands.

A very easy 'hop' across to this island on the Cayman Airways Express service from Grand Cayman - a short flight in the twin prop 'Otter'. We were met by staff from the hotel, and taken by mini-bus to the resort, only 5 mins (max) by road.

A small, relaxed resort with only a handful of rooms/guests. Rooms clean & tidy, but we did have an issue with the A/C on our first night, and had to switch rooms. All sorted without any hassles thanks to the helpful Front Desk Staff. All public areas very well kept, clean & tidy. The odd 'errant' geko in the lounges etc - but they are cute, and keep the bugs down!

Breakfast is buffet style - good choice.
Lunch also buffet style - good choice.
Dinner is a La Carte - good choice from the menu, but a little inflexible 'time wise' (dinner served 7pm prompt); a little early for European guests - would have preferred a later option.
All drinks on the pricey-side, but this is in line with Grand Cayman (all imported) , complimentary tea/coffee available 24/7 from the machine.
All staff very helpful & obliging - a personal service ; you are a person - not a room number.
Diving excellent - the dive staff endeavoured to take you to the Premier sites, Bloody Bay Wall about 20-30mins by comfortable, spacious boat (not many divers on board). Reef very healthy. Water and cereal bars available on the boat. Staff knowledgeable and helpful. Our only negative comment regarding the diving was the cost of Nitrox - steep at $20 a tank.

All in all a lovely few days on this tiny island, non-divers note there is really nothing much to do other than sea fishing, diving, snorkelling. Would certainly recommend!

The Southern Cross Club is one of the best dive destination resorts I’ve been too. And I’ve been diving all over the Caribbean for some 20+ years. It's a small, quiet, off the beaten path, very comfortable resort. The dive boats are modern, well designed and laid out specifically for diving. The Bloody Wall is well persevered and not over dived. The food is prepared by a gourmet chef and was very healthy and delicious. Freshly made salad and soups for lunch were particularly enjoyable. The room we had was the very comfortable honeymoon suite with a king size bed that faced the ocean - absolutely wonderful. I believe the other rooms have a similar floor plan.
The staff is honest, considerate, friendly and very helpful. They make you feel part of the Southern Cross family. I had accidently left my $10 flash drive in their computer. They tracked it down to me and mailed it back. Don’t hesitate – Go there!

This was our 2nd trip to SCC. We had high expectations because we had such a great time last year, and we were not disappointed. The divemasters (Justine, Christian and Henry) were wonderful and patient, as always, and can point out the smallest sea creature that I would never find on my own. The cabanas are impeccable and we loved the outdoor shower. The food, as always, was great, even with Chef Ron off the island for a few days. David, Jen, Maryanne, Nancy and the rest of the staff are so accommodating. We look forward to many many more trips to the SCC.

My 14-yearold son Jack, and I, spent seven euphoric days in the parallel dimension of the Southern Cross Club. I've been looking for this place for a long time. In 1967 I first learned to fish, scuba dive, and explore the allure of the Caribbean with my father. I found that same old-world magic on Little Cayman - and the Southern Cross Club was the perfect staging platform. The food was great, the accommodations sublime, and the staff exceptional. The diving and fishing is some of the best - if not the best - in the world. Little Cayman and the Southern Cross Club is the perfect destination guaranteed to restore your faith in humanity. Go now!

Southern Cross Club is a very special place indeed. The atmosphere is remarkably relaxing and laid back, with a talented and friendly staff who simply can't do enough for you. The manager, Jen, is charming, highly competent and very thoughtful. The diving in Little Cayman is, of course, fantastic and the dive operation is excellent. All of the instructors and dive masters are really accommodating, clearly love diving and want to make sure you have a great time too. Our room was spotlessly clean and beautifully turned out and the bar, restaurant and reception were all welcoming and comfortable. The food was just brilliant, with one culinary delight after another issuing forth from the kitchens! Southern Cross offers luxury without pretension and we certainly hope to be back.
