“Sunset Cove Condos”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Our family (11 people) rented a 3 BR oceanfront condo and a 2 BR oceanfront condo. The beach was excellent - my mother is handicapped and it was so smooth we could easily get her in and out. The pools were lovely, and it was very convenient to have Billy Bones right there. The location makes it easy to get to restaurants and the downtown area. The staff were very helpful and responsive. It was a great experience and we will be back.

I have just spent the last 11 days in Grand Cayman with 13 members of my family, between us we rented a 3 bed oceanfront condo - a 2 bed Beachfront condo and a standard, all of which were to a superb standard. I would recommend this complex to any family wanting a relaxed beach holiday, the Billy Bones Beach Bar was great we had a couple of lunches there which were reasonably priced and the staff were really pleasant. Overall an excellent time was had by all. The O'Hara family

We stayed at Sunset Cove the second week in June. Our unit was a three bedroom oceanfront property on the second floor. Our views were extraordinary, we had lots of space and room to move which was perfect for my husband and I and our 3 teenaged children! The pool was spacious and the swim up bar/restaurant was very inviting with a friendly staff. Sunset Cove is not the Ritz ....... But they don't pretend to be. We saw pictures of our unit before we arrived and knew it was a bit outdated. There were no surprises. The prices are much more reasonable affording better financial opportunities to try out some of the great local restaurants. The beach and cove were incredible for snorkeling, sun bathing and swimming. My only complaint was that our unit was not very clean, but when we alerted Debby in the office to this, she sent someone in to clean immediately, so all was good! We will definitely be back for another stay at Sunset Cove!

Room Tip: Ask for pictures of the units you are considering.

We spent a week in mi-June at a partial oceanview unit located near the beach. The unit was nicely appointed and had pretty much all we needed to make ourselves at home. This end of Seven Mile Beach is very rocky (called ironshore) but the complex has carved out a sandy beach ringed by large rocks that is a perfect way to access the water. There is an amazing reef located off the beach and well worth the strenuous swim - it was teeming with fish of all types, probably the best reef we saw on the trip. The pool area is lovely and a destination in itself. Billy Bones restaurant on site has wonderful food at reasonable prices and the swim-up bar was quite popular. The condo staff was very helpful (especially the first day when the other couple in our party missed their flight and we were trying to reach them). We are looking forward to returning some day -- we have to snorkel that reef again!

Room Tip: If stairs bother you, try to get a room on a lower floor (we were on the third floor -- a bit of a c...

We have stayed at these condos in the past, and love the location. 3 bedroom units are beachfront, with fabulous views. Debbie in the office is very friendly, and the pools/Billy Bones Pool Bar are awesome - great for families. Good snorkeling right off the property. Over the years, the condos themselves are deteriorated. Units all have different owners, and many are not well maintained. DO NOT rent without knowing what unit you are getting and seeing pictures. Units are also not well-cleaned. Management has eliminated most maid service, and you can really tell. Kitchens adequately appointed, but bring an SOS pad if you plan to cook - I had to scrub the pots before we could use them. Also not all units have wi-fi, so make sure you ask for a unit with that if you want it.

We booked a 2 bedroom at Sunset Cove. I really can not say anything bad . The condos are a bit older but was clean and good view on them all. The front was good for snorkeling at the Reef. We enjoyed it. A few minutes walk to 7 mile beach. You need water shoes to go over some rockier areas. There are some trees and a man made concrete stone walkway to 7 mile beach. Did not bother us at all. The pool area was really nice. The locals live in the back at treasure island but not one bit of trouble. We walked to Georgetown and up and down the beach snorkled and had a great time. We rented a car and really did not use it more than 3 days to see the other parts of the island. I did not like the driving on the wrong side thing. This area great for older kids and adults. Beach area rocky for small children but it was just us . No it is not the Ritz, but i like nice but comfy and cosy not stuffy.Management was great. Beach not crazy. Loved it.

Room Tip: No rooms are bad. All have a great view closer to the ocean i am sure quieter. We were in the center...

Ive stayed her at least a dozen times. On the Georgetown side of Seven Mile Beach. They did a beach renovation a couple of years ago and it is fabulous. Great snorkeling. Protected swimming area. The complex has a big pool with a swim up bar. Billy Bones restaurant serves a full bar and a better than you would expect food selection. Say Hi to Jesse who is the head bartender. Sunset Cove has 2 bedroom units off the water and 3 bedroom units on the water. I almost always stay on the water. Huge patios facing the Caribbean sea. Grocery store close. Rent a car and use this as your base to explore.

Room Tip: Bring friends and get a 3 bedroom unit on the 3rd floor. Incredible views.
