In November of 2003 we stayed at the Coral Sands in Grand Cayman, which is within easy walking distance of capital city Georgetown's shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. The nearby supermarket makes it easy to stock supplies for those who like to cook a few meals. The beach was not very deep, and was rough with exposed coral, requiring beach shoes, but the Snorkeling and Scuba right off the beach was Awesome. The units are older, but reasonably well maintained, as is the small pool shared by all units. Each had a full kitchen and laundry. We rate the resort above average; not for anything we found to be "Deluxe", but more for the family atmosphere and quick comfort level. This timeshare grouping is known as the smallest on island. You may be approached for a timeshare presentation at the sister resort, the Grand Caymanian. We bought one there, since one of the selling features was that we could visit Coral Sands as well. We'd recommend Coral Sands, while not outstanding, it was comfortable and friendlier than some we have booked at. Give the Caymanians time to get the island in order before visiting, though. Hurricane Ivan "changed things around" a LOT!
