“Walked here from the Ritz Carlton Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

We borrowed snorkeling gear at our hotel (the Ritz Carlton) and walked down to Governor's Beach to snorkel. We had just been out with Captain Marvin's boat - the snorkeling was BETTER at Governor's Beach and it's FREE. Definitely recommend.

This is a spot next to the Governors house that is absolutely beautiful, the scenery is fantastic, the water is clear & blue & the sand is like powder, just wonderful!

“Decent snorkeling”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

We went twice since it was near our hotel. The first time my daughter and I saw 2 stingrays and a lot of fish. The second time it was cloudy because the ocean was a bit rough so we didn't see much at all.

“The BEST snorkeling!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

My husband and I just returned from a trip in early June. Governor's beach was our favorite spot. The snorkeling was amazing! It's a 150-200 yard swim to the reef, but there is almost no current and the water is crystal clear. The reef was spectacular. The typical fish come out to great you, but if you are patient all of a sudden you will see amazing marine life. Daily we saw barrcuda, a sting ray, a puffer fish the size of a small dog, a queen angel, a french angel and large schools of beautiful tangs. The beach is pure white sand. It's far enough away from Georgetown that you'll likely miss most of the daily thunderstorm rain. The only down fall is that the only bathroom is a port-a-potty.

“Fun snorkeling site.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

The coral is not brilliant colors but the fish are incredible. There must have been 50 fish swimming all around me. They are not afraid of people & come right up to you. We saw an incredible electric blue polka dot fish and a blue striped fish. Along with lots of fish that were yellow, orange, etc. etc. Also saw a spotted ray. It's nice that this reef is off the shore. The first day we went we didn't swim far enough out. Make sure you swim out to the marker.
