We have now been back 5 times in the past 5 years and stayed at Cayman Reef Resort every time. My wife and I love it. It isn’t cheap but we always know things will be in good shape and the units have everything we need for our stay. Location is perfect for our needs with beach, shopping, food, etc.
My wife and I just returned home after spending a beautiful, relaxing week on Grand Cayman. The booking process was a breeze with Marc responding back to us within a few hours. The full kitchen was updated with new granite countertops and a tiled backsplash. The bathroom was also recently updated and the shower stall is tiled with a sliding glass door (very nice!!). The bedroom has a very comfortable king bed. The whole unit is beautifully decorated and was immaculate upon our arrival. Marc was very attentive and accommodating to our needs.
Perfect condo for 2, only steps from beach. This complex is perfectly located on Seven Mile. It has one of the best private beach areas, close to everything you need. The owner was very helpful and we can't wait to go back!
A very updated condo whose owners were very responsive to any and all questions. We did not even rent a car since everything we needed was within walking distance. We only used a cab once to go grocery shopping. We will definitely be back.
We recently returned from our second one-month stay at #50 Cayman Reef Resort (a one-bedroom condo unit) and it definitely lived up to our fond memories of two years ago. In fact, it’s been nicely renovated in the interim, with upgraded bathroom, kitchen and furniture. We find it perfectly comfortable for two people for an extended visit. The draws for us: A one-minute walk past the pool away from Seven Mile Beach, it’s private and quiet while essentially being on the beach. Since it’s a small condo building, the beachfront area is never packed like it is at the big hotels. It’s within easy walking distance of many excellent restaurants, the dive shop and spa at the Marriott, the great bookstore at Camana Bay. We walk 20 minutes to Foster’s Food Fair (which was pretty good before and has improved greatly since our last visit), then take a taxi home if we have too many groceries to carry – so we don’t need a car except occasionally to explore the island. Most of all, it’s comforting to know that if there are any problems, Marc, the owner, is a quick phone call away and acts immediately to solve them. He is always cheerfully responsive and competent. We plan to return again frequently.
We stayed in Cayman Reef Resort unit #50 (1 bdrm, 1 bthrm) for 10 days. The unit is on the ground level and is a short walk to the beach. The unit door has a keypad lock which was great as you didn't have to worry about misplacing keys or demagnetizing keys. The unit is newly renovated and very clean. It's equipped with everything possible that you may need. When you first walk in, you'll find the laundry room on your right hand side (washer, dryer). Then the bathroom with a spacious stand-up shower and towel rack (lots of towels so no need to bring any). Then you'll find the kitchen and living room area. Everything listed in the "amenities" section on the website was there. To the right of the living room, you'll find the bedroom with a queen size bed, a large dresser with lots of drawers, another cabinet with a marble top and the closet. Plenty of space to store luggage. The screened patio was really nice to have daily meals. We enjoyed breakfast in the patio every morning.
The beach is beautiful (white sand, turquoise water). Not enough umbrellas for those who need the shade, most guests are out there by 9am. Lots of beach loungers. There's no public bathroom, so you have to go back to your unit to use your own. There's no wifi in case you're relying on internet for music.
Marc the owner is super nice and helpful. He happened to be there at the same time as us so it was very convenient. He knows the island very well so don't hesitate to ask for advice if it's your first time.
I highly recommend this place if you want to feel like being at home. The resort is basically made up of privately owned units. It's clean and very safe (the entire island is as well). It's perfectly located on Seven Mile Beach and a short walk to Camana Bay. There are two grocery stores (Foster's and Kirk) on either side of the resort (it's a longer walk than Camana Bay, we had a car, but you can take the local bus ($2 CI per ride), there are no "bus stops" you have to stand on the side of the street and wave at them (white vans), they usually honk at you to see if you're waiting for one), they're safe.
There are lots of things to like about this condo starting with the location. We had a rental car for the first 2 days but didn't really need one at all. We walked to town, grocery stores, and several of the great restaurants that are close by. The condo itself has a modern updated look, a kitchen that is well stocked, a decent size patio with BBQ (screened in although there were very few bugs), and is just steps from the beach. The only minor drawback for me was the soft bed which most people would like but was a bit tough on my back. I would very much recommend this condo and this area.
