We visited to celebrate an anniversary in April.
Rooms: upgraded to a suite (resort side), we were very impressed by the size and quality of the room. Had all the amenities you could need. Walk to beach a non issue for us.
Beach: beautiful water, great beach chairs (with adjustable canopies), great food/drink service at beach. Chairs just to close together, severe lack of privacy. Tables & pads in water were a nice touch. If you want to sit in the front row better get there early.
Food: amazing! Blue is a legitimate Michelin worthy restaurant, brunch was also very special. Very expensive though!
Service: Everyone we encountered was well trained & very friendly, our needs were constantly anticipated. Providing personalized service is clearly a focus of the Ritz. Our anniversary was acknowledged at every meal, chocolate strawberries were delivered on our first night as as well.
We had a fantastic time, our only complaint was the crowded beach chair area & noise level of some of the guests who were there to party.

We usually travel to the Caribbean for vacation, as stated on previous reviews. Our main purpose is being pampered and relaxing on a great beach spot. We returned to this resort because our great experience in 2011 (http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g147367-d302259-r121085792-Ritz_Carlton_Grand_Cayman-Seven_Mile_Beach_Grand_Cayman_Cayman_Islands.html).
As we promised, we returned and spent now 10 days on this beautiful and luxurious resort. We found renovated rooms and better buffet breakfast at Seven, even with vegetable freshly squeezed juices, although more expensive (92 USD for 2, tax included). Overall, the service was top notched. The weather in April was great, the beach glorious, but the sea was somewhat rougher a few days.
Nevertheless, on our first 3 days there were some unexpected issues related to the service that broken our previous enchantment. At check-in we weren’t recognized as loyal and returning guests, different from what happened with other guests checking-in at the same time (this, isolated, could be a minor issue…). On the second day, a beach attendant didn’t replace the broken sunbed at our request, alleging that there weren’t any more available. We found some available and we switched the sunbed on our own (at a Ritz-Carlton!). On the third day, housekeeping forgot our room, and we found it at 4:00 pm the same way it was when we left it at 7:00 am. We called Guest Services. When we returned to room 40 minutes later, we found that there was no light in the shower. We had to wait more 30 minutes to have the lamp replaced and only then we could shower. We reported all these issues to the management that tried unsuccessfully to repair the damage done to our vacation. All these issues isolated could be forgotten, but they happened consecutively during the first 3 days and didn’t allow us to really enjoy our precious vacation.
We must emphasize that the service is essentially extraordinary. Even the housekeeping service was flawless from that time on. But we are beach lovers that spent 8 hours each day at the beach during the entire vacation. And we found an inconsistent service there, even after our claim. There was a great downgrading after our previous stay. It’s true that there is a big problem with new sunbeds; it’s hard to find one without a dysfunctional canopy and more than a half had already lost their canopy. Furthermore, the complimentary service was almost absent: during our 10 days at the beach we had 2 watermelon slices, one juice cup and 2 refreshing cold towels… On our previous stay we had juice or fruit twice a day and cold towels daily.
When we choose to stay on a top brand resort for a beach vacation, we paid for it but we expect to receive some attentions in return. Unfortunately, this Ritz-Carlton failed this time with these beach lovers and hasn’t reached our expectations. We had a better beach service on our previous stay and on other resorts elsewhere.
It’s painful, but we can’t rate the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman with 5 stars anymore. We hope things improve at the beach and we will probably return someday.

There is really nothing spectacular about the garden room and food on the property. A basic lunch or breakfast will easily cost $45+. The staff however is really courteous everywhere from the beach to front desk. The restrooms off the pool area are very clean for having people come in from the beach/pool. The resort is really the only place (for quite a bit) to have chairs right on the beach. The chairs also have hoods to protect from the sun. The spa is really nice and comes with the resort so make sure to stop by. We walked on the beach late at night and was safe. Try Luca about 10 minute walk and Casanova a ($12 cab ride each way). Noone bother you on the beach, but everything on site is pretty expensive.

I stayed at this property during April vacation.

The facility is really nice and the pools are excellent. The service, in general, was really exceptional. The front of the hotel staff (bellman and people who greet you) really distinguished themselves.

The beach in front is nice and the chairs and service there was generally very good. Breakfast was excellent and the staff there was very nice and reasonably attentive (they were around but did not "hover".

The gym is really quite nice with lots of equipment. I did not have trouble finding a machine when I wanted it.

I did not love the bed, or I would have given it a higher rating. It was not bad, but it probably needed a new mattress.

Overall, a good Ritz property. It is expensive, and was especially expensive during my trip, but it was not outrageous.

We recently traveled to the Cayman's and stayed at the Ritz for five days. The staff was courteous and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. We had an ocean view room that was beautiful with the grounds and facilities very well maintained. Room service is flawless. The breakfast buffet is $36.00 per person and offers a wide variety of items. The restaurant Blue is good but definitely overpriced. Expect to pay well over $400.00 (US) The other restaurants were more relaxed, had good food and were a little less expensive. The spa is beautiful and very pricey. While there were a wide variety of spa services offered; the actual treatments were a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. As we were traveling with my husband's company, we didn't have a choice of when to go on this trip. If you are looking for a quiet couple's getaway, I would not book this resort property. There were families and children everywhere from infants through teens.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms are nice but tend to be a little hotter in the afternoons. Difficult to sit on...

We have stayed in many lovely hotels, however this one is a cut above the rest. We have been made to feel at home from the moment we were greeted by the driver who picked us up, through to our departure. Our baby daughter fell ill during our stay, and the support we received was unbelievable. From first aid, to bringing fresh meals to the hospital, driving my husband back and forth, giving me a local mobile to keep in contact without running up a big phone bill, checking in to see how she was doing, and getting her a get well soon teddy. Luckily it turned out to be a minor stomach bug, but it was a scary situation to be in and the genuine care we received was heart warming. Our concierge Leroy orchestrated everything for us perfectly, a genuinely friendly and kind person, who went out of his way to help us to no end. We are so impressed we plan to only stay in Ritz Carlton where possible! We will definitely be returning!

Strongly recommend you to stay in Ritz when you will be planning your vacation on Cayman Islands. Friendly staff, excellent food, great interior and facilities in the rooms. I was there last June and I have never seen same great and excellent service as in Ritz-Carlton that can be best exmple for all other hotel chain in the world! Thank you Ritz!
