“Great Value, Great Location, Wonderful Owners”

My wife and I spent ten nights at The Harbour View in early February and were just as pleased as last year when we stayed 7 nights. Rose and Dudley Parsons are almost like
family.
The room are clean quiet. There is no beach(Ivan)but a pier extends into the water for
snorkelers. Kirk's Market is 5 minutes away, dowtown is 15 minutes away and bus service
is more than adequate.
It cost us $115 US a night for our studio plus Cayman tax. This was the same rate as 2009. We booked for fourteen nights in 2011&assume if there's an increase, it will be fair.
Rose and Dudley are very accommodating and unlike most lodging facilities, you can
chat with your fellow guests on the veranda. BBQ grills are available and we purchased
fresh fish downtown daily and grilled it ourselves saving money. Try it out!!

If you need luxury, a pool, room service, perpetual party, or fancy surroundings, DON'T come here please. If you want a great place to snorkel , a quiet, CLEAN, spartan room that will save you a bundle , this is your place. We cooked in our rooms, conversed with friendly neighbors, laid out on a small beach, and snorkeled right off a pier with fearless fish galore waiting for you to feed them. We didn't have a car and used the local transport which was easy (just wave at a minivan with a number 1 or 2) and it cost $2 CI each way. The location is at the south end of 7 mile and you can go to Georgetown or West Bay easily. The Kirk supermarket had everything you'd need. Harborview even has wireless! The Parsons are kind and casual. One does not need to pay the outrageous price of all the condos/hotels to enjoy this diving paradise. You are outside most of the time anyway.

I thought bargains like this didn't exist in Cayman. We stayed in unit #10, on the beach end with a deck. Cruise ships (and freighters) out the window, Georgetown harbour, many snorkel sites. This property is quiet, low-key, and Miss Rose is a sweetie. Grocery store across the street, grill on the deck, and Tues night salsa dancing next door. Jetty out back with snorkeling/swimming, cabana, beach chairs. Kitchen, frig, micro, cable, a/c. Many long-time return guests staying here. Can't wait to return.

My wife and I just returned from 8 days at The Harbour View Apts. in Grand Cayman.
This property is well maintained, clean, and has grate location right on the beach.
We stayed in a studio with a queen bed, frig, microwave, two burner stove, toaster, blender, coffee maker, cable TV. The room was plenty big for the two. No problems whatsoever.
The best things: small pier to jump into water, watch and feed fish; view on cruise ships and sunset; nice owners.

What a great place, rooms were clean, staff friendly, even the neighborhood stray cat was a friend! The little private beach was nice, and the weber grills made bbq's easy. Very convenient, and a great bargain, I'd definitely go back.

stayed here for 3 nights. This is not your typical hotel set up, it has more of a guesthouse feel to it. Check in was basically an informal greeting, nothing to sign etc just a short greeting from the owner. This place is a bargain for grand cayman, the biggest bonus being the market across the road which allowed for not allowing your budget to blow out on the very expensive eateries in grand cayman. Rooms are more basic without being luxurious, but for the price there is little to complain about. would say that this is without a doubt one of the few cheap options in grand cayman.

We found this place in the Lonely Planet Guidebook and were extremely satsified. This place is a gem in every way. The price was right ($165 for a full apartment with an ocean view) and the location perfect. It is a few blocks off Seven Mile Beach so you don't pay the beach price, but they have a perfect little private beach with a few palms to provide shade and lots of chairs to watch the cruise ships arrive in the harbor. The snorkeling off the end of the dock and a few hundred yards to the south was spectacular. We called to let the owners know that we would not arrive until 11:00 pm and were worried that there would be nowhere to buy food. When we arrived, Dunlin and Rose, the lovely owners, had filled the refrigerator with fruit, milk, and other snacks -- all at no cost to us. Kacy's, a huge, well stocked grocery store, is just a few blocks away so you can walk there and buy a full, hot meal to bring back to eat in the quiet and privacy of your own deck. We would not hesitate to return. We also went to Stingray City with Soto Adventures (owned by their daughter and son-in-law) which was a fun trip, albeit filled with tourists. The guide was informative and accommodating. Do NOT go when there are more than 2 cruise ships in port.

  • Liked — great price for the location
  • Disliked — small beach
