Having driven past Dukes on many occasions we decided to give it a try at the weekend. We were met with friendly smiling faces and the staff could not be more helpful. They were attentive and drinks were served very quickly. We sat outside as dusk fell in a lovely setting. As previous correspondents have mentioned the restaurant is a ten minute drive from George Town, but worth it. The portions were extra large and the chicken and ribs combo could have easily fed 3! The ribs were succulent and delicious and the smoked chicken was very tender. Of all the places I have visited on island, Dukes has to be up there for value, service and tasty tasty food. The bill for 2 diners plus drinks was $46 CI which as residents will know is good value for the size of portions. A special mention to our server, Rita, who was very good at her job. Great ambience about the place.

Would I recommend Dukes to friends and family?.... Already have!
Would I go back again..... Going this Friday!

We visit Cayman every year and eat out every night, taking advantage of the fabulous assortment of top restaurants. We decided to try Duke's for dinner based on the Tripadvisor reviews. Bottom line, we were not wowed at all. My wife had a blackened fish sandwich that was pretty good. I had one of their steamed pots that was pretty bad. We ordered a side of fries that were tasty. For the quality of the food, it is a bit high priced, even by Cayman standards. The steamed seafood in my dinner was over cooked. In particular, the stone crab I was looking forward to, was so over cooked it was hard to scrape out of the shell. The broth was tasty, but it all came in a fairly large pot that was mostly empty. The "peasant bread" was a plain piece of commercial white roll.

We did not try the ribs, which are supposed to be good, and the menu seems to have a wide variety of other foods, so I may have simply picked the wrong thing.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The setting is pretty far out from town, across from the public beach. We sat outside, and although it is not on the water, the setting was nice enough. We will not be heading back to Duke's for dinner on a future visit to Cayman because there are too many better places to eat. It might make our lunch rotation.

Went restaurant hopping for early dinner. Had appetizers and beer. Conch Fritters were the best on the Caymans! Beer cold and friendly atmosphere!
