we had made no shore excursion plans for grand cayman, and happened upon a "glass bottom boat tour - $30" sign after enjoying a caybrew at 10:30am. (hey, it's vacation - don't judge.) we gave it a try and were so glad we did. we were the only people on the boat, so had a private tour of the reefs and shipwrecks and a private swim as well. brent, our guide, spied a conch shell through the glass bottom, and swam down what seemed like 30 feet to bring it to us. it was cool to look through the boat and see him swimming below. he also dove down to put the conch back.
brent was an excellent guide. we would have been happy to have shared a (more respectable) afternoon beer with him!
well worth the money. one of the highlights of the cruise.
