We stayed for 6 nights at the Renaissance Villas and we were very impressed. The Villa we had (#19) was very well maintained (they are almost new). We loved having the screened in porch with ceiling fans and spent most of our relaxing time out there. The view was spectuacular, the infinity pool is very nice and is long enough to accomodate lap swimmers. We cooked out on the gas grills several nights. It is about a 15-20 min walk to the Cemetary Reef at the Northend of Seven Mile Beach. Because there are only condos at that end of the beach (as opposed to hotels), it is a lot quieter. There were hardly any other people on that end of the beach during our stay. Whereas when we went to the Westin for a parasailing pickup it was very busy and there were lots of people everywhere. My 25 year old son was with us and I think he might have preferred more action. The quiet villa was not his cup of tea. So keep that in mind. I think this is a great place for couples and families with adult children to stay. I don't see it for families with young children.
Note to Management: You need to install a towel rack or hooks somewhere in the unit. We had our beach towels laying around everywhere trying to dry them. They were great towels and replaced everyday by housekeeping but often times we used them several times in one day. There were no hooks or racks in the bathrooms.
Also, summer rates are good but I don't think we could afford to come back in the winter.

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room here.

Our family of 5 just finished a week long stay at the recently built Renaissance condos on Seven Mile Beach, staying in a corner 3 bedroom suite with a commanding ocean view. The 3 bedroom unit is well outfitted with quality furnishings, and many amenities in the kitchens and 3 baths. Little touches as toiletries for the kids, a welcome gift amenity, shopping bags, beach towels and an ample supply of kitchen soaps, sugar, coffee, etc were there upon our arrival.

The building is relatively quiet and the beach, pool and hot tub were uncrowded. They are extremely well kept and the grounds maintenance gives a well manicured appearance. The beach itself is clean and among the nicest for this section of 7MB - the crowds from cruise ships are 10-12 minutes south, and yet the Tiki bar beach and Cemetery beach (terrific snorkelling) are a 15 min walk or less. There are many lounge chairs, umbrellas and hammocks available that afford relaxation.

Television on the 3 large plasma TVs is Dish Network with a wide assortment of channel subscriptions. High speed wifi is included, as is free long-distance calls back to North America via VOIP.

Overall, this is a fantastic option for a 7 Mile Beach stay. It is well situated with easy access to groceries and other shopping and amenities, but is just far away enough to avoid the crowds of this part of the island. The only item that one needs to be aware of is that the building itself is situated on a curve in West Bay Rd., and except for the quietest times of the day/night, it can be difficult to exit the parking lot and turn south onto West Bay Rd. toward Georgetown. Visibility is not strong and traffic on West Bay is busy throughout the day. All considered, that is a small inconvenience for an otherwise fantastic luxury property.

We(hubby and I, daughter and spouse) completed a stay at the Renaissance on Feb 19th after a one week stay. First off, this property has a fair number of permanent residents here, so if you are a partying, loud group, I would suggest a different property out of respect for these residents. That being said, this is a new, upscale, well-maintained property on the north end of SMB located between London House on the north and Heritage Club on the south. It has an exercise room, 85’ foot beachside pool at a nice temperature, hot tub, with cushioned poolside loungers and umbrella loungers beachside. There is a nice beach out front with enough of a sandy entry into the water to make it easy access. There is also a man-made 25 foot circle rock “reef” out front in about 4 feet of water. Fish have begun to populate the area, so it is the perfect spot to learn to snorkel for beginners or a nice lazy float for others.

We stayed in a corner, three bedroom unit. Great furnishings, well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer with laundry soap supplied. Beach towels were complimentary, so no need to pack those. Toilet paper, Island-made shampoo, conditioner, bar soap and lotion, dishwasher soap, dish soap, iron, hair dryers are supplied. A nice touch not to have to purchase/pack some of those items.

The view was magical with a few palm and pine trees. Could see clear to Georgetown and the cruise ships in one direction. It was a good 15 minute walk north to Cemetary Beach for good snorkeling. May want to bring water shoes as the beach narrows several properties north for a small area at high tide, but still quite walkable. Shorter walk south to the public beach there. You will need a car or other transportation to get groceries or to get to most restaurants.

There is a manager on duty during normal business hours and as needed on Saturday. We had a few problems getting the safe set up, long distance free calling was not working and the TV channels were only partially working upon arrival, but once management was aware of it, it was fixed within the day. Very nice cleaning staff.

Used the beachside gas grills which appear to be cleaned on a regular basis. Made for a great lunch on the beach. There are three hammocks hung between the palm trees—perfect spot for novel reading or dozing.

We have stayed at many extremely nice(multi-million dollar) condos and homes in popular beach locations from Hilton Head to Hawaii and this property competes well with any of them. Would definitely stay here again when SMB is our choice of location.
