“Paradise Found-Not one Complaint here”

My husband and I returned last week from a 4 night stay (not nearly long enough) at LaCovia. We stayed in an oceanfront condo. The condo was perfect, it was very modern, clean and well maintained. The view from the 2 balconies, one in the bedroom and 1 downstairs, was incredible. There are several restaurants within walking distance, as well as the grocery store. The staff at LaCovia was very cordial and helpful when we asked for advice on dining, shopping etc. Actually, everyone that we ran into on the island was very friendly. This was the perfect vacation. I highly recommend a stay at this property. Definitely well worth the $.

I spent my spring breaks in college at Lacovia, and it NEVER grew old to me. It's beauty and charm is equally wonderful every time I go, and I hope to always return in the future. Amazing beach location, incredible sunset views, excellent service, fun night life. Easy on-beach access to various water activities. Very quaint town as well. I cannot say enough great things about Lacovia, I find myself "reborn" each time I go!

We stayed here from June 1st-8th. We stayed in a 3 bedroom ocean front condo. We had 5 adults and 2 children. This place was awesome. I think there must have been only 6 other people here the week we stayed.
We had the beautiful beach all to ourselves. And when cruise ship people from next door tried to sneak over, the security let them know this was a private beach for resort guests only!
We had a full kitchen so we could cut costs and cook for ourselves. But there was also some nice restuarants right across the street. A grocery store right down the road. A dive shop next door. It was very nice. I recommend renting a car though so you can explore the island. This was our 3rd trip to Grand Cayman and first to Lacovia. We will stay here again!
The grounds were beautiful, and the pool and hot tub were kept clean. Awesome place! I will add some photo's later! E-mail me with any questions!

We just returned from a week at Lacovia. It was perfect and we will definitely return! We loved it more than the Bahamas, Jamaica, the US Virgin Islands or Aruba because it was friendly, safe, clean and first class all the way.

We strongly recommend you book an ocean front room as there is nothing better than going to sleep with the sound of the waves and waking to the spectacular blue water. The other rooms were nice but be careful not to book a courtyard room to close to the office or you will hear a lot of noise from cars on the street.

We booked a 2 bedroom unit and the rooms were large and comfortable. The property, pool and hot top are well maintained and the foliage lavish and well groomed. Having a full size washer and dryer right off the kitchen was very convenient too.

The location is perfect. Just 2 doors down from the Hyatt and Red Sail sports; and far enough away to have plenty of our own space on the beach. The condo staff was great and recommended cab drivers to accommodate our needs. (Rita, of Rita's cab was very attentive)

It was a thrill to take a Resort Dive course and we went on 2 resort dives during our stay. After 2 hours in the pool in full wet suit and weights the real adventure begins (at a shallow 40 ft. site). Feeding the fish, and swimming with a turtle was a dream come true!

The Lone Star, Hemingway’s and Ragazzi restaurants are steps away and so is a wi-fi bakery/coffee shop, Azzuro Cafe.

Foster's was a perfect food store and we loved having our breakfast and some lunches at the condo/on the beach. The food is expensive but not so much that it impacted our vacation.... maybe 25% higher than in our NJ stores.

We were pleasantly surprised to see so many beautiful wine choices and restaurants! There were so many more choices than we could have imagined. The big decision for us was cab or car? We opted for cabs. Even when traveling from Lacovia to the Turtle Farm, it was still cheaper (about $25 each way plus tip) for 4 people than renting a car at $75-$100 a day. A cab ride to Calypso Grill was $30 each way without the tip so be prepared. There was so much to do on the Seven Mile beach and West Bay areas that we never made it to the East End or Georgetown as originally planned.

Don't miss the Turtle Farm (and lunch across the street at the Cracked Conch), and Stingray City.

We have been going to the Cayman Islands for 6 years and have stayed at Lacovia 6 times. It is by far the best place I have ever stayed. The beach, especially during the off-season in the summer, is virtually abandoned and very quiet. The condos are spotless, as well as the tropical grounds. The landscape is painstakingly attended to and is absolutely gorgeous.

I would most certainly suggest Lacovia to anyone and everyone who likes a quiet, immaculate beach only footseps away from a beautiful condo.

  • Liked — beautiful and quiet beach and free high speed DSL internet for my laptop!
  • Disliked — next to the Beach Club that is loud and FULL of cruise ship people 5 days a week
  • Tips/Secrets — don't go into town when cruisers are in port, they take over everything!

First time to Grand Cayman Island was amazing. Hot hot humid heat. It was hot when it rained. Lacovia unit 34 was great. 6 adults and plenty of room. Great balcony overlooking the 7 mile beach. The beach was beautiful and raked every morning. The water was like bath water and so clear. You could rent snorkel sets from Red Sails just down the beach (Hyatt) and spend the day in the water. Lacovia had a great swimming pool and a functional weight room with dumbells. The exchange is not favorable for US tourists. But you are in paradise. Recommendations:

1. buy liquor at duty free on the way into the country, 200% mark up at liquor stores
2. Jolly Rogers Sunset Booze Cruise if you like to drink (can't comment on the food)
3. Boatswain Sea Turtle Farm if you like wild animals (they let you hold them)
4. Captain Marvin's snorkle tour was great (small nurse shark / moray eel / lobster / tons of string rays at stingray city)
5. Don't get creeped out by the lizards, they are everywhere (iquanas/geckos/small monitors)

GC is not a crazy party island. It is a more reserved. But you can still have a great laid back time and the people are so friendly. Mixing pot of cultures.
