We have stayed here several times and always enjoy coming back. This is a small resort of about 18-condo units located on the quieter end of 7 Mile Beach. Yet it is only minutes away from all the restaurants, shops, etc. that the 7 Mile beach area offers. Units are owned by individual owners and the decor of each varies somewhat although all have similar floorplans. Balcony's are screend in and all units have spectacular ocean views.

The resort is well maintained and the beach area is very nice, with ample chairs, umbrellas, etc. Very nice pool and hot tub. The beach in this area is generally calm and good for small children. Nice snorkeling out front, and just down the beach at Cemetary reef. Front office staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Units on 2nd & 3rd offer better ocean views, and more privacy from pool/beach area. However ther...

Since being a member on Trip Advisor I have never given anything 5 stars. I cannot wait till the day I do because i will always go back to that place. We stayed Nov 29th to Dec 7th.. So the Aqua Bay club would not say it is a 4 star hotel because it is not a hotel it is more of a Condo unit. I would consider it a good 3 star hotel if I had to. Here are the facts if you are looking for a quiet low key relaxing vacation spot on seven mile beach, for the money I would HIGHLY recommend this place.. Beach is AWESOME. Why the beach is better than the hotel to the left and to the right is because Aqua Bay has NO rocks in the sand while walking into the ocean... It is pure white sand.. You don’t have to be careful walking in and out. You look to the left and the right the hotels on each side do not groom there sand, lots of rocks, not as comfortable as the Aqua Bay club... Rooms are fine! Clean, spacious and working! Air conditioner never broke down, mattresses were good quality firm, and cable TV had lots of movie channels... Pool is small but is enough for the entire condo unit. Hot tub was nice. The place is kid friendly there were young kids when we were there so it was nice.. So some suggestions for you if you plan to stay. RENT a car, you can try and not rent one but if you go up the road its $25 bucks.. If you are the type of people who just enjoy staying local, walk out of the aqua bay club make a left and you will hit the super market less than a half mile down.. Stock up on booze and food and just chill out!! The island is expensive as hell!! Convert your American dollars to CI so you don't feel like you are getting ripped off! Great places to eat, Calypso Grille, Blue Cilantro, the Ritz... Visit Rum point it is worth it you can spend the day there and eat and drink... Snorkel at Cemetery beach it is about 500 yards away from the Aqua Bay club.. Really nice coral reefs and worth the time, you can skip the snorkel tour not worth the trip or money, there is snorkeling right in the back yard at the Aqua Bay club.. Again this is a nice condo that has what you need, not 5 stars but really worth it. I asked for late checkout and it was NO problem, we appreciated that. Here is the best info of all. MAKE sure you stay in the ground unit... If you stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor you have to go to the back of the building and walk around to get to the beach.. Ground unit makes it SOOO nice and convenient...

Room Tip: Choose GROUND floor!!

What a great place, wonderful staff. It's a condo that's kept VERY clean. Perfect location. You don't need a car. There's mini van buses every few minutes that charge only US$2.50 to almost anywhere other than the airport. The condos are Hugh and can easily be occupied by 6 people. Daily maid service, clean towels daily and free cell phones. Wifi in condos and t.v. In every room The beach is a little rocky but it's heaven on earth and very peaceful. The scuba is fair only due to the lack of marine life

Just got back from two weeks with my wife and two boys (ages 16 & 14) at the Aqua Bay Club in Grand Cayman. We stayed in Unit #5: two bedrooms, two baths, screened in porch, full kitchen, big living/dining area, three TVs and you can walk right out to the pool/beach. The unit is kept impeccably clean and has plenty of drawer and closet space. Washer and dryers are located on the premises, so you can cut back on the amount of clothing you bring. It isn't the Ritz, but you'll want for nothing. About the only negative that we can come up with as a family is that the shower water pressure wasn't as strong as we're used to. But the showers were hot every time we used them and that usually isn't the case in the Caribbean. The staff is absolutely fabulous and the location is far enough from town that you'll have the beach to yourself, but close enough that within 5 minutes you can be right in the heart of things. The Foster's supermarket is two minutes away. We stocked up on supplies (they have everything that we have in the US, but EVERYTHING is expensive - spent $250 US for the bare basics) the night we arrived and made one or two more visits during our stay. For anyone to complain about the "rocks" on the beach as you enter the water is ridiculous. Those "rocks" are actually dead coral and the living coral is just a few strokes away. If you want a nice, white, sandy beach, you can go to Tiki Beach. Just don't expect to see any fish in the water when you snorkel at Tiki Beach. You'll see a lot of fish swimming off of Aqua Bay Club's "rocky" beach, however. I was lucky and swam with three green sea turtles just a few hundred yards off shore. If you are active and use your vacation living quarters as a base of operations, you will not be disappointed with the Aqua Bay Club's accommodations, staff or location.

We were on the island for two weeks, so we rented a car at the airport from Andys. Pick up and drop off were a breeze. We had a slow leak in one of the wheels of our jeep a few days in and Andy's fixed it in a jiffy without any problems at all.

We had rainy, windy weather the first three days of our trip, so we searched for indoor activities and non-water related activities during that time. We visited the Cayman Motor Museum ($60.00 for the four of us for about 30 minutes of looking at beautiful cars), stopped by at Hell (free) and took in a movie at the Camana Bay Mall ($35.00 for the four of us) all in one day. There is also a bowling alley on the island. We also toured the island from one end to the other, driving through blinding sunshine one minute and driving rain the next. You won't see a lot of poverty on this island and everybody speaks English, so exploring back roads wasn't really a problem.

FOOD: Ragazzi (in a strip mall - $190 US for 4 of us) and Casanova (on the water in Georgetown $200.00 for 4 of us) were both very good Italian restaurants. Pappagallo (remote area, nice atmosphere was $135US for just my wife and I) was also Italian, but we weren't bowled over by it. Orantique is located in the Camana Bay complex and all four of us enjoyed our Caribbean themed meals and the outdoor dining atmosphere, but it is very expensive ($270US for the 4 of us). We tried Yoshi Sushi ($125US for the 4 of us) and while we liked the vibe of the place, we weren't thrilled with the Sushi offerings, although, to be fair, it was Sunday night and the whole island seems to shut down on Sundays. We LOVED Karma's sushi and other entrees ($145US for 4 of us) and we liked the Thai Orchid's offerings, both sushi and traditional Thai ($145US for 4 of us). Francesco at Karma is a great waiter. We also ate at The Wharf ($210US for 4) - great atmosphere right on the water and great food. We tried Alfresco the first week we were in town and we ate right on the water. Very low key, unassuming place that seemed to be frequented by a lot of locals. Food was OK, not great, although I really liked my meal. It was very windy that evening, so it probably wasn't the right choice to eat outside. For less expensive dinners we visited a ribs place called Duke's and it was just what the doctor ordered: reasonably priced and very filling, although nothing gourmet. Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in Georgetown was also reasonable and filling. You also can't go wrong with lunch at Tiki Beach or lunch at the Brittania Golf Club (the only two places that we ate at twice during our trip). Our two boys stayed home three nights and ate takeout pizza from Ragazzi, chicken from "Chicken-Chicken" and chicken from KFC. Given their ages, they might tell you that those were the three best meals they had. By far the best breakfast on the island is at the Brittania Golf Course.

ACTIVITIES: Rum Pointe is worth one or two visits. The snorkeling is kind of lame, but you can rent jet skis, have a nice lunch, enjoy the scenery and spend a nice day at a calm beach for a change of pace. We booked a Jet Ski trip to Stingray Alley through Ebanks Water sports and it was worth every penny (and at $350US for the two jet skis, that's a lot of pennies). You spend about an hour riding your jet ski out to the sandbar where the stingrays hang out, you spend a half our holding and kissing stingrays and then you ride an hour back on the jet skis. We took a second trip out to Stingray Alley a few days later on a boat that was operated by Soto Cruises and we enjoyed that trip immensely, too, although it was less exciting. The additional bonus about going out there via boat is that you get to feed the stingrays. It is my understanding that the Jetski tours are forbidden from feeding the rays. We snorkeled Cemetery Reef, Rum Point, Tiki Beach and the reef off of the Cracked Conch. Incredibly, the best snorkeling for us --- and maybe the calmer weather contributed --- was right in front of the Aqua Bay Club, 1/4 mile each way. Visited the Turtle Farm, which was nice, but nothing to write home about and it was fairly pricey. Rode the Banana Boat at Tiki Beach ($30 per half hour per person) and that was a lot of fun. Rode the jet skis at Rum Pointe ($75 per half hour) and that was nice. We enjoyed an afternoon of horseback riding with Nicki of Nicki's Beach Rides. We four non-horse people ended up riding bareback on horses in five feet of ocean water. A great experience. But the best bang for our buck as a family was at Cayman Karting, Here we were on a Caribbean island, surrounded by some of the most beautiful aquatic sights in the world and there were the four of us driving out near the airport to ride in motorized go-kart races before dinner each of the last three night of our stay. As my older son noted, if we had gone to ride the go karts the first night we were in town, we probably would have ridden them every single night. What a blast. $25 for 25 laps and they give you your lap times when you are done. I noted that some people complained that there were a lot of mosquitoes on Grand Cayman, but the only time e noticed mosquitoes was when we were at the go-kart site.

TIPS: Bring your own snorkel gear. Ask for Roberto as your waiter at both Tiki Beach (for lunch) and at Casanova (dinner). Make sure you shop for food on Saturday night because all the supermarkets are closed on Sunday. Get to the airport a good 2 and 1/2 hours before your flight leaves the island. Not the most organized place.

this is my second visit to the Aqua Bay Club in 9 years. This time my wife and I took our 4 kids. The Aqua Bay Club unit #4 is ground floor with patio to the pool/beach. Even though the condo's interior didn't change much in nine years, we had a wonderful stay. Deena and the crew are outstanding. You are steps away from the pool, hot tub and beach. Mosquitoes were a problem, but that was the whole island after a previous week's rain of 13 inches. The BBQ grills were brand new which made our cook in meal awesome. Remember this island is not cheap, but well worth the price, and so is the Aqua Bay Club. Hope to get back sooner than 9 years again. Snorkeling was great also, you are only a 5 minute walk from Cemetery Reef and the snorkeling right from the Aqua Bay was good also.

I have to be honest; I almost hate to write this, because I really don’t want to let the secret out about what a hidden treasure Aqua Bay Club truly is! We just returned from our 4th trip to Grand Cayman and, having stayed previously in the lower SMB area, we really loved the change to the quieter, more local West End. Deena the Aqua Bay Club’s general manager was a wonderful hostess, the location was perfect, and the place is gem of a facility. We stayed 6 days with another couple in unit 14, and it couldn’t have worked out better. We never tired of the view from the room. The large screened porch was the perfect spot for morning coffee (and more than a few happy hour beverages). The kitchen was well-equipped and it was great being able to keep essentials in for a quick snack. The filtered water dispenser and ice maker in the fridge were also quite handy. We’d read here about problems with noise but truthfully, had no problem with road noise or chickens/roosters or other guests around us while we were here. Aqua Bay includes free (and surprisingly fast) Wifi and we had no problem using it to keep tabs on the folks back home. Aqua Bay offers even a free cell phone loan, but Skype seemed to worked just fine so we didn’t bother. Even video chat worked well – which we used to promote some long distance envy as our family saw our view :) We rented a car for the week from Andy’s rentals at the airport (look for coupons on the web) and I definitely recommend one for running to the supermarket and touring the island. For dinners, we chose a taxi service and we were lucky enough to meet the lovely Deserene (“Lady D”) and her cab service on our first evening. Lady D was such a wonderful, welcome source of hospitality and humor all week long. We can’t recommend her highly enough. She was funny, punctual, friendly, a great source of island information and is cousins with everybody! We went out of our way to use her services all week and while I’ve never hugged a cab driver when leaving a vacation before, I did this time!
The fact that Aqua Bay has only 21 units meant plenty of room and space on the beach (there were many days were we had the entire beach or pool to ourselves). We saw lights on, so folks were there – but when we met a condo owner he told us the same thing, it always seems to be quiet – even when fuller with guests. The landscaping is perfectly maintained and the beach has plenty of both sunny and shady spots. Our favorite spot on the beach, under the large sea grape trees, still makes me sigh contentedly. There are two Weber gas grills for use, though we chose to eat out in the evenings. But with a supermarket just a short walk up the beach, and a daily fish market in downtown, it’s possible to dine in every night. Worth noting, ABC does not have an elevator, so bear that in mind if steps are a problem for you, consider a first floor walkout or second floor unit.
I’m a huge snorkeling fan and the reef at Aqua Bay did not disappoint (see pics). There were some surprisingly good fish in just the first 10 yards from shore just to the left of Aqua Bay which would be great for kids or those not comfortable swimming further out (I saw a small stingray, pufferfish, flounder, and plenty of other fish right there). For some nicer reef, swim toward the anchor buoys about 100/150 yards off Aqua Bays’ beach at about the 10-11 o’clock position. Also, just up the beach to the right, about 4 properties away, is the Cemetery Reef beach, one of Grand Cayman’s best off-beach snorkel sites. Here especially, make sure you swim out far enough. I saw some surprising comments here on TA about Cemetery Reef being “dead” (no pun intended). Nothing could be further from the truth, but you do need to head out far enough to see it. Stand on the beach, find the orange Kittywake buoy marker, and swim that direction about 150/200 yards. There’s some awesome sights there including stingrays, French and Queen Angelfish, great coral formations, even cuttlefish – first time I’ve ever seen them.
Some folks mentioned the ABC beach being a bit rocky or steep. There’s some truth to that, but don’t let it overly influence your decision. The swatch of rock and small coral pieces is only a few feet wide and we had no problem stepping over it, and there were plenty of easier-entry locations right at Aqua Bay and nearby. If you want an even more gradual slope head up or down the beach a little bit. Note too that the beach is crushed coral and soft, even at the waterline, which makes longer walks and jogging difficult as your feet tend to sink. Short walks are just fine.
For meals we really varied between nicer and casual. One of or favorite was the local heritage BBQ just up the street on Boggy Sound Road (only on Sunday afternoons). Wonderful local food and hospitality. We also went to Eduardos (great), Aqua (good), Calypso Grill (great), Cracked Conch's outdoor tiki bar (good), Coconut Joes (great fun). Chicken Chicken takeout was also delicious!
I just can’t say enough about how much we loved the place. I think our housekeeper summed it up beautifully when I saw her taking a break and staring at the beautiful water. She was born on “the brac” as she told me and grew up by the water. “Do you ever get tired of looking at it?” I asked. Her reply, without hesitation: “Nope, never.”

Room Tip: All rooms have amazing views. Since there's no elevator, consider a second floor room to be up a...

We stayed at this property for our honeymoon. It was exactly what we wanted... quiet and very well-kept. Our condo was one on the bottom floor and it literally opened up to the beach. The staff at the property was very accomodating and even gave us a cell phone to use while in Grand Cayman.
