“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed November 14, 2010

We have stayed at Sunshine Suites two years in a row now and have enjoyed our stay both times. The hotel is a short walk to the beach and provides beach chairs and towels for its guests to take to the beach. The pool and grounds are beautiful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Great place if you are on a budget with a kitchenette for cooking meals. The Sunshine Grill has great food and drinks if you don't want to eat in your room. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. They will help you schedule tours. Great time!

Everything was so clean and well maintained and the manicured landscaping was beautiful with all the tropical flowers, palm trees, etc. The bed was extemely comfortable with the best quality pillows and bedding. The staff amazed us with how they went out of their way time and again to be helpful --- they made us feel like we were family. Sunshine Suites is in a location that is quiet and yet just across the street from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and within walking distance of all the amenities one would need.

Stayed at the sunshine suites in oct..
The Good.. The breakfast saved us a lot of money-although they could have changed it alittle day to day..The rooms were kept very clean ..We left money for housekeeping 2 days in a row and she did not take it...I got an envelope from front desk.. The food at sunshine suites was very good..the salad was really good. Also the painkiler drink was very good and strong..I drink and i felt it..The stafff went above helping..They were awesome..Nothing seemed too much trouble...They arranged trips, called cabs and even someone missed their ride I think they offered to take that person to the airport...Also they have phone at the front desk for your use..all you pay for is your useage..Also the bus stop was right in front..Eats is also a great place to eat and right in front of resort. Also remember when you go to the food stores you can wheel the shopping cart back to resort but leave in front of the liquor store.Free wireless a plus and they also have computers for your use..Again the staff made the place worth going to..I did feel safe on the island with no one seeling anything on the beach..The water was beautiful after it cleared up from the storms..I think it is tied with aruba ocean wise..

The Bad: I would not call this a resort more of a Motel ( a nice one though)..Crossing the road was terrble at times...It is a very busy road. Hardly anyone lets you cross...also wear your shoes..The area to the beach has stones and needs a major makeover..It was a major turn off..Also no hot tub at the resort which would have been a nice feature..Pool was small but who needs a pool with a beautiful ocean..Also if you are in the back of the hotel it is a far walk to beach..ask to have a room closer to beach..If they are available you will be moved..They want to please their guests...Sunday on island nothing seemed to be open..Which is fine but just be warned...Buses stop running on weekdays at 9 and on the weekend 9:30...Taxis are very expensive..Also renting a car we thought about but driving on the wrong side of the road was harder than we though with the circles they have...The island was nice but not as pretty as I imagined..Also no fitness center..Although the walking back and forth from the beach was exercise..

Also I would not go in oct again..Cloudy most days with some rain..Also the ocean was cold def not in the high 80's like I read and cloudy the first few days we were there due to storms in the area..

Food very expensive on island...But you can eat on a budget if need to...

We just spent 8 nights in Sunshine Suites. We discovered it several years ago. It's an easy drive from the airport and well positioned, adjacent to Seven Mile Beach.
We are repeat customers.

The reception staff welcomed us back like old friends. Each member of their very friendly staff seemed interested in knowing that we were enjoying our stay.

We booked a one-bedroom suite, which was really nice, with a living room, kitchen and separate bedroom area. The hotel is always well maintained, both outside and in. The decoration of our room was spotless and really clean. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was efficient and not noisy. There are two hobs to cook on, a microwave and a fridge/freezer. There is a television in the living area and another in the bedroom, with lots of channels. We used the free wireless internet often and it was a good signal.

The pool area is very pretty and the grounds are beautifully kept. One evening we sat in the wooden chairs on the lawn, but were tempted by the hammock, which is hung between two palm trees. We walked over the road to the beach (Seven Mile Beach), which is a couple of minutes walk, and there are beach chairs provided for you to take if you want them.

The restaurant staff were really efficient and pleasant. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet which provided cereals, breads, fruit and some hot food. We also used it for lunch and dinner, eating al fresco by the pool, and we can recommend their tacos. In fact, they won an award for them!

Finally, we really appreciated the scuba diving shed which is adjacent to a rinse tank, which enabled us to wash everything off properly at the end of the day, then hang it up to dry and store overnight.

This hotel is a peach and so are the staff. We have only just got back but we're already planning to go again.

Anyone traveling to Grand Cayman should check out this hotel. We had never been before as frankly, stumbled across Sunshine Suites. They have wonderful rooms, immaculate grounds, their continental breakfast was a major hit with us. Also, the front desk service was out of this world. Extremely, helpful about excursions and excellent advice about local stores and attractions. THANK YOU MICHAEL, DARREN and the rest of the Sunshine Suites staff you made our vacation more than memorable. We will see you next year!

I enjoyed the casual atmosphere and friendly, helpful service. The restaurant on the premises was open-air and had a great selection of island dishes.
