“Family vacation”

Our vacation to the Marriott Grand Cayman Resort was great. The service was excellent and everyone was so friendly. We really enjoyed our waiter, Savio, who we had on serveral occassions at the restaurants. The food was delicious, though pricy (which it seems to be on the entire island). The only complaint we would have is the size and space available on the beach. The beach is crowded with beach chairs and theirs not much space to spread out on their beach.

My husband and I flew to Grand Cayman for the weekend. The reviews I'd read about the Marriott were that the location on 7 mile beach was good, and that the staff was very friendly. Right on!
We had the most relaxing weekend. Yes, the beach chairs are many, and they are packed together. But we were always able to get a chair. And there was always someone to put up an umbrella on our request.
We snorkled right offshore, the artificial reef was fun to swim around, although the fish were not as beautiful as some places we've been.
The room was nice, clean, and quiet.
The staff was incredibly friendly without being overbearing.
We walked to dinner both nights and felt very safe.
The only complaint we have is that maybe the beach staff was not as attentive as they could have been. But in their defense, we were there on Easter Sunday and Monday, and I'm sure staffing was at a minimum. The drinks were cold and there was adequate liquer in them.
In all, this was the perfect place to go for a weekend without kids and just relax without having to dress up or worry about anything. Grand Cayman is a beautiful island, the sunsets are gorgeous. The airport is very easy. This is my third trip in 4 years, and we plan to go back. Go and have a wonderful time!

Room Tip: If you do not have ocean view, ask for a room over the courtyard.

My family of 6 just stayed for a week at the Marriott on Seven Mile Beach, we had a great time. We had a 6 year old and a 7 year old with us and they had a great time at the Kids Club doing crafts and playing games with Kathryn. Kathryn was a terrific Kids Club coordinator and event coordinator. She painted kids faces on Pirate night, passed out glow sticks and s'mores on Bonfire night and hosted a pajama party for the kids on all u can eat lobster night, (so the grownups could eat out). She was the best! We also had two teenagers with us and there was plenty for them to do as well. We rented wave runners one day, snorkeled the reef another day and had fun by the pool. Overall guest service was awesome, rooms were a little small but nice, clean and well kept. Food at resort was pretty good, Pirate Night food was good, but show was great, kids loved it. Lobster night was very good and worth the money. Only two complaints we had were expensive Internet charges, and having to get up very early to get beach chairs, (by 8 am all chairs were full, I think people even put their stuff on them the night before) I don't want to get up early on vacation, there must be a better way!

Would definitely return to Cayman and to the Marriott!

We just arrived home last night from the most relaxing week , from here. We were here the week of 04/06/13 -04/13/13, and it was the most relaxing week of our lives, this year. The water is amazing a long with the snorkeling. Our room was large clean and king size bed was wonderful and very confortable, our maid Vivvian was very pleasant and made sure we always had a well stocked clean room. Our views were semi ocean views which was nice, I had my tea out there every morning.
Angelica at the front desk was outstanding! She helped us with any of our questions and took great care of us.
Their restaurants are very good, the Red Parrot has wonderful Pizza's and Italian food very well priced. Our favorite night at the Soloana restaurant was Thursday, they have all of their wines on special, it is buy one bottle get one free. What we did not finish we had them cork, took it back to the room and had it the last few days of our stay. At the beach they have happy hour from 10:00am - noon. They have three cocktails to pick from Bloody Mary's,Screwdrivers, ect. Happy hour runs from 5:00pm -7:00pm with different selection of drinks. Durning this time they are all $5.00 a drink. Yes, they make a nice drink there. Courtney set up our beach umbrella every morning for us , and if you would like front row seating, just ask him and he is extreamly kind and accommodating to everyone. God bless him ! ;) The beach menu is good, but limited however; we had several of the lunch items and they were all nice size you can split one meal between two people.
This hotel is surrounded by many wonderful restaurants, so be adventurous and take a walk if you want something else to eat. Keep in mind that everyone has just about th same prices on food and just about the same selection remember you are on an island. Our favorites were Coconut Joes across the street to the right, Copper Falls up the street to the left by Fosters Food store (a 15 min walk in high heels) we took a cab ride home for a few bucks, you can take the bus for $2.00pp it runs until 11:00pm and It is safe, they toot their horn at you when you are walking, if you want them to stop flag them down an hop in, they drop you off in front of this hotel. The staff is always there to greet you back to the resort, all of the doorman are
Very kind.
We are looking forward to visiting this wonderful resort soon.

We just returned from a week in Grand Cayman and very much enjoyed the Marriott. We arrived on Wednesday and planned for the all you can eat lobster dinner which was excellent and highly recommended.

The staff were absolutely great and very friendly. We only experienced one issue when we returned from diving at 4:30 and our room had not been made up. It took about an hour for the staff to come in and clean up meaning we had to be out of the room so they could do their business. Not happy for the inconvenience.

I'm a gold member and when I questioned the charges for local calls they removed them from my bill despite the fact Marriott resorts do not honor local calls. Excellent customer service over a nominal issue.

We stayed at both the Westin and the Marriott during our visit. The experiences were night and day. Although the Westin has a superior pool, the staff were night and day different. Everyone at the Marriott was gracious and kind. We enjoyed being right on the beach. I'd definitely stay here again!

We just returned from a week vacation staying at the Marriott Grand Cayman Resort. The rooms are a little outdated, but everything else at the resort was beautiful. We received breakfast coupons for 4 free breakfasts for everyday we were there (Nice benefit for Platinum members, you just need to ask for them.) The resort was nice about giving things out for free. At the Pool/Beach area, every afternoon they would pass out popscicles to all the guests. One night they had a movie night with free popcorn down at the pool area. Another night there was a bonfire on the beach with all the fixings to make yourself a smore. They also passed out glow sticks to every one that stopped by the bonfire. The staff at the resort was awesome, they all went out of their way to serve you.
The resort was located in a perfect location. Just a short walk into Georgetown and plenty of resturants to eat at in the area.
One word of advice. I would use the "Bus" system instead of the taxis. The bus picks people up right outside the hotel and only costs $2.00 Caymen dollars per person no matter the distance. If you would take a taxi, it can get pricey. Things in Cayman do cost a lot more than in the US, so bring plenty of cash.

Room Tip: We had a first floor/courtyard room and it was perfect. The coutyard had lots of areas to sit at to...
