“Lovely hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

Stayed here for 7 nights in December 2012 and had a lovely time. The beach was stunning and not too busy. Rooms were spacious, bright and well presented. We had a ocean view which I would recommend. There are also rooms overlooking a courtyard where there is a turtle pond/relaxation area. The service was very good and the breakfast buffet was amazing - one of the best ever if a little pricey perhaps - (btw; pancakes are a must!!). Pool bar was nice - i understand why there is a "no glass rule" but having $10 cocktails in flimsy plastic glasses was a little but of a shame. The food from the pool bar was excellent too - especially the truffle fries!
Location was great - about a 30 minute walk into George Town (via road). Lots of fantastic places to eat and visit nearby.
Would recommend a trip to Sting Ray City and eating at Sunshine Suites, Rackhams & Reef Grill.

A one week stay at Marriott in October was wonderful in part due to the outstanding staff. Sheila, our hostess at the Red Parrot greeted us by name with a huge smile every morning. Warm and friendly despite the fact she was working the previous night(s) at Solana Restaurant.

Bernal the restaurant supervisor was extremely accommodating re my food allergy. Even on his day off he had made his assistant aware of my allergy so breakfast was a delight.

Davina and Elisa at the concierge desk were extremely helpful in all restaurant recommendations, directions, sightseeing, island shopping etc..

A genuinely helpful, efficient, and outstanding staff. Check-in and check out at front desk easy and the complimentary punch drink on arrival a nice surprise.

My husband and I just returned from spending 8 days at the Marriott in Caymen Islands and we had an amazing time! The staff at the hotel is what makes this island better than any that we've visited. The staff is outgoing, attentive, hardworking and genuinely cares about you and their work. The staff at Sol Bar and Balboa's lounge were particularly fantastic. We want to thank Zoltan, Rodrigo, Dil, Hannah, Jennifer, Nicola, Amy, William, Angela, Rachel and Lisa (and anyone we might have forgotten) for their friendly service, good conversation and making our first trip to the Caymen Islands extra special!

This has a great location right on Seven mile beach and is walkable to places nearby. I stayed there over 10 years ago previously and their beach has come back and the property as a whole has improved. We never dined on the property for dinner but the breakfasts/lunches were very good. We also enjoyed 'long walks on the beach' and lots of swimming. The only downer was that our room was on the left side of the property and we could hear the (awful) music coming from the bar at the hotel next store. The music ran late a few nights and hindered our sleep.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the right side (facing ocean)

Rooms were spacious and clean and the staff was attentive and extremely helpful and always in a great mood with smile on their faces. The amenities, were great. Loved the all you can eat lobster at the in house restaurant Solana by the pool overlooking the ocean was incredible. The on site diving stingray visit tours and was fantastic made it easier to enjoy the island. I am going to recommend this hotel to everyone I know considering Grand Cayman.

Room Tip: ask for full ocean view. we were at pool side and it was still quite!

We stayed with a large group at the Marriott for the Cayman Islands Marathon and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful, the staff are great and the food was pretty good. Our courtyard-facing room was big, clean and well appointed. Since it was shoulder season, it was pretty quiet and there was always lots of room on the beach. I'm not sure what other reviewers saw or expected but the beach was great, enough room for 3 rows of loungers and lots of umbrellas. Staff at the Red Parrot for breakfast and at Sol Beach Bar were both fantastic (great Caesars!) but all staff always said hello and seemed genuinely friendly.

Thank you to the whole hotel for the wonderful treatment of our team!

The staff was amazing at the Grand Cayman Marriott. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We ordered food from the waiters at the beach and pool everyday and the food was fantastic...portabello wrap, grouper wrap, fish tacos and pizza were all a hit. The beach is small but we went before Thanksgiving and had no trouble finding a place to sit. The water is amazingly beautiful and the snorkeling right at the Marriott beach was great. They have many reef balls and a huge variety of fish. We took our own snorkel gear and used it everyday. Great vacation for us parents and our two kids, ages 8 and 10.
