“Best condo on Seven Mile Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2011

We stayed at Beachcomber with our two children the week before Easter. We chose unit #4 on the ground floor. What a great choice! We were able to walk right out the patio door to the gorgeous pool or beach-- very convenient with young kids. The accommodations were terrific and housekeeping was excellent. The best thing about Beachcomber versus other properties along Seven Mile Beach was that it is much lower density. There were plenty of beach chairs to go around and they were not piled one on top of another like some other properties. Also Beachcomber has lots of movable umbrellas for shade at the beach. I was surprised to see how many properties on Seven Mile Beach did NOT have umbrellas at all or had very few. Having Foster's grocery and a terrific coffee shop (Paperman's- they also have great sandwiches, salads and cookies) right across the street was very convenient also. We will definitely be back to the Beachcomber!

Stayed at The Beachcomber in March 2011, unit #15. We were impressed by the quality of the furnishings, housekeeping and management. There were plenty of available beach chairs at any time of the day, pool was barely used (this was also during one of the college spring breaks) and the entire property was pristinely cared for. After walking the Seven Mile Beach daily we really began to appreciate our "space" on the beach. Not only did we not have "wall to wall" chairs at the ocean, but we had a lovely kitchen, washer/dryer, and large ocean view deck!. The daily housekeeping was especially nice, thanks to Jennifer. There was a leaking pipe between our unit and next door, and the management went out of their way to solve the problem quickly with minimum inconvenience to us. Thanks to Danielle and the rest of the staff at Beachcomber, this was a wonderful vacation! Having traveled to other caribbean islands in the past few years, Grand Cayman was a wonderful surprise!

We spent a week with our two sons, d-in-laws and two grand-kids, 11 and 15 months. I exchanged various emails and everyone was responded to quickly and professionally. They ensured there were two cribs and two highchairs --- check-in and out was smooth and efficient.
We had unit # 4 on the ground floor and it allowed the little ones easy access to the pool and beach. When the little ones were down for a nap, the mom's could still sit around the pool with monitors soaking up some beautiful weather and knowing they can be back in the room within seconds. There are four top quality Weber BBQ's and we found it very convenient to walk out on the ground floor to hit the grill. It was just as advertised and the only probably is the next extended family holiday will be compared to the Beachcomber and Grand Cayman.

Location is great, food and liquor store in easy walking distance. Desk staff helpful with reccos on diving companies and tours - they were great. We had Unit 29, great views and good amenities. Only a small issue with some of the more complicated electronics (tv and stove) but fixed quickly. The beds were comfortable, and everything you needed was there. Nice touches like spices, etc in case you want to BBQ. Every day they cleaned the BBQ's so it was great. No fighting for beach chairs, like at the Ritz. Nice pool and hot tubs, the odd loud kids but they were shut down quickly. Never heard noise from neighbors. The beach is amazing, and the UK beginnings of the Caymans give it a nice feel. Safe too.
Thanks to the staff.

The Beachcomber condos was completely rebuilt after Ivan and finished in April of 2009. As such it is in very new condition with lovely kitchens and baths. It is 7 stories high and every apt. has a beautiful balcony facing the beach and ocean. It is about midway on 7 mile beach which makes it accessible to both Georgetown and the West End. There is a a Fosters IGA across the street and Paperman's, a terrific coffee shop (think Starbucks but better). The local buses are $2.50 each and make it easy to go wherever you want along the beach. There are 40 condos but only 26 rent out so the beach is never crowded altho they could use a few more thatch huts. The restaurant Luca which we thought was the best on the island is 5 mins walk south.
I'd highly recommend for a family or friend group. Maybe not ideal for very small children - no kiddy pool - but for everyone else, excellent.

We visited in Feb 2011 and loved the Beachcomber. Our oceanfront unit (#17) had an extended deck beyond the screened viranda which provided more quiet space & magnificent views. Unit is a quiet end unit (I think the whole place is pretty quiet) beautifully appointed and fully fit out even wi-fi & free phone to US.
Beach is immaculate and not crowded...Ritz looks like a distressed tent city. Reception staff and housekeeping couldn't have been more welcoming and gracious. Property location is ideal; short walks to market, variety of resturaunts at all price ranges, the weather was perfect...I'm in next year !

We stayed in Unit 17 which is an end unit on the 3rd floor. It has a nice balcony that overlooks the ocean, the beach, as well as the pool. Overall we were very comfortable there and enjoyed our time at The Beachcomber.
