We went to the Royal Palms Beach Club during a cruise stop Thanksgiving week. Our server at Margaritaville recommended this as a great spot to hang out on seven mile beach - and she was right. We took a small shuttle for $4 to the beach club, paid $2 to enter to use the facilities. It was a bit pricey ($10 for chairs) and we were disappointed that they weren't allowing the use of umbrellas (even though they were advertised) because the sun was very hot that day. The beach area is beautiful, but know that the chairs are right next to each other - so you don't get a lot of privacy. We ordered a couple buckets of Corona's from the bar for $33 each - not a bad price for 6 beers per bucket. We had to go to the bar to get them though - the servers on the beach were never around. All in all - it was a nice, but pricey, stay on seven mile beach.

Our cruise ship made a stop at GeorgeTown and we took a taxi to the Grand Palms. Fare was 4.00 per person from the cruise port area.

The resort itself is quite nice, well kept, and up-to-date. Entrance was free since it was a Sunday.

The beach itself is very nice, sand is soft and nice, however, we did find a bit of glass in the side, looks like previous people may have been partying too hard. Upon letting the workers know of the glass they apologized immediately and cleaned it up.

Beach chairs are 10.00 each, umbrellas are another 15.00. Prices are not really posted anyway, but don't be shocked when you need to pay (i.e. mandatory tip).

However, once you rent the chairs, the waiters don't bug you to buy drinks or anything - you can lounge around all day, low pressure. You're also entitled to use the facilities which include the shower areas, bathrooms (clean but basic), and swimming pool.

We did not try the bar nor the food, but it looked clean and people seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The water was clean, relatively shallow and warm. Only complaint is that between the shoreline and the water there is a 2 foot "drop" and a tad rocky... so getting in and out of the ocean, especially with a small child, maybe a bit challenging.

Overall, I enjoyed myself at this beach, I would recommend if someone is looking for a beach club to visit on the Grand Caymans.

Lobster, scallops, shrimp, tossed in a flavourful alredo sauce. Are you drooling yet? I am just thinking about it. I wish I had another plate of it right now.... Not to mention the restaurant is right on the beach, and the night we were there we caught the fireworks display for Pirate Week. The night time lighting sets the mood for a romantic of laid back atmosphere - strings of small bulbed lights, which were great! A little pricey, but I say try it!

The Royal Palms is located closer in to George Town where the beach is much better than just a few properties just to its south. The Palm's is set up to service the cruise ship people along with those of us who are visiting for more than a few hours. The beach is good, the recreation available and the food and drinks fit well. The beach faces due west and can have really nice sunsets. Evenings are very popular and its a nice hang out for party people and just a fun place to be. My only complaint might be the crowds at times from the ships, but the beach to the right and left at wide open and extremely nice.

We stopped in here to watch the sunset and have a couple of drinks and an appetizer before dinner. I really cannot vouch for the food here as we only had the spinach dip - which was good. I do wish they served it with some chips as the pretzel bread was very filling...
Their drinks are the typical tropical ones you find elsewhere on the island but were very accommodating in making a concoction off the menu (and did it well I might add)!
