My family and I have been visiting Grand Cayman for 20 years. In the past we had eaten at the old Reef Grill and visited the Royal Palms bar, but have not been back in several years. We decided to try Royal Palms for dinner this past December. We ate on the main, lower patio -- casual seating right on the beach which is a great atmosphere when it is not too windy. On the night we were there, a band was playing. We enjoyed the music very much, although it can be a little loud, so be aware of this when you choose your seating.

We were most pleasantly surprised by the food. My son declared his hamburger and conch fritters to be some of the best on the island. My husband and I both enjoyed our red beet and arugula salads, and the scallops were well cooked in a delicious sauce. My main complaint was I thought 3 scallops were a little chintzy -- I would have expected at least 4 for a main course dinner.

The service was friendly. All in all, a very positive experience, and we will definitely add it to our list of restaurants to revisit.

We spent the day here as a home base while on Seven Mile Beach. The staff are very low-key and friendly. The facilities are very clean. The pool area is great. The bar is fun. The food is good. And the beach access is perfect.

Second time on Grand Cayman for a cruise. Disney Cruise Lines "Seven Mile Beach Break" for four of us would have cost $134 for a bus ride to a simple beach club and one bottle of water or can of pop! Made that mistake last time. Found RP and based on Tripadvisor reviews decided to give it a try. Excellent spot for the family! Very close to dock. The cab driver raved about some other place and very happy we didn't listen to her. Rented a beach cabana and served by a very attentive and pleasant young man. Food is reasonably priced and tasted better than expected. Mahi sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, California chicken club and a pizza all very good. The beach area is very clean, lots of beautiful sand. Clean washrooms and all staff were very nice. Yes, we spent more than $134, but got much more than a ride to and from a beach!!!

I'll start out by saying the food and service here is pretty good. They make a combination Lamb and Beef burger that is terrific and the various Pizza's ( I had the veggie last night) are pretty good. The view is pure Seven Mile Beach with amazing sunsets on most evenings.

Here's the problem, and this happened the last two times we went there for dinner. They start setting up a DJ platform and Video screen around 6pm. The place becomes a club at 9pm. They seated us next to this set up and we had the DJ, a nice enough fellow, walking past us with speakers and lighting equipment and talking to other staff carrying equipment basically for the whole time we were eating. We were a group of eight both times but there were certainly other places they could have put us, or they could set up in the morning.
