I've tried the majority of restaurants in Grand Cayman and after several years of experience can honestly say that I've never had anything less than a great meal from Thai Orchid. The staff are very welcoming to you when you first enter the establishment and their high standard of service stays with them regardless of the "hour" i.e. they're not trying to run you out of town at 9.30pm. The food is delicious and unlike other "asian" restaurants on the island is cooked by properly trained Thai chefs. Sure Thai Orchid might not be the cheapest restaurant on SMB but you're not running the risk of any "day after" effects. The lunch menu is about 20% cheaper than the dinner menu, but the highlight of the week must surely be the CI$19.95 all you can eat buffet on Sundays where not only are there several mains on offer, but there's a large selection of starters, soups and a good selection of desserts (try sticking rice with mango if it's in season).

Lots of options for vegetarians, including some interesting sushi/roll items. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff.

Food was fine but slightly overpriced for what it was, location is a bit weird (in a strip mall) and the decor is tacky. The staff was super friendly and service was good. There are much better restaurants (better located and better priced), just wasn't anything special. I don't think that there is anything they could have done better, just that there are so many cool outdoor restaurants (Tukka, Duke's Rib Shack, Da FIsh Shack) and so many nicer INDOOR restaurants (Mizu, Luca, Ragazzi) that it just isn't worth it.

Well they do serve sushi and the do serve Thai food - genuine versions of both. But the sushi is overpriced compared to the vastly superior Yoshi Sushi up the road, the chairs are uncomfortable, and the whole place feels somewhat cramped. It's acceptable fare, but I generally avoid it.

Now if you visit Grand Cayman (seven mile beach area) go to this place. Totally worth every penny. Everything on their menu is just nice. Spicy or not their food is great. Can't say it enough you have to go try it. And their Sunday brunch totally should try it out
