Called in for a quick drink as it was recommended to me; it was relatively quiet with only a handful of people at the bar. I understand that Saturday night is the big night at this time of year!

We ate at Calico Jacks for lunch one day between dives. The place is right on the beach so the location is great. And the jerk chicken was authentic and fantastic. We happened to be there with a lot of cruise ship people. While I don't have an issue with that, it just made service really slow. There are a lot of restaurants on the beach in Grand Cayman. If you are looking for a good tourist attraction, it's a great place. If you are looking for a more laid back (less crowded) place to eat, you may want to look elsewhere.

That being said, the food was very good. We may have just hit it at the wrong time.

If you have a picture in your mind of what a beach bar is, that would be Calico Jack's. The bar inside, the picnic tables outside on one of the premier beaches of the entire region has something for everyone; singles, families, dog walkers, you name it. You can't do much better than a bucket of beers and the jerked chicken.

Great drinks, great location, great time. It is exactly where you want to be at sunset. The staff is very friendly, tons of expats hang out there, and to say how great this bar is, there were lots of bartenders there on their day off.

Not the best looking bar in Cayman but great atmosphere and perfect beach bar. Parking a bit hard as you may have park across the road and take your chances with the crazy taxis.

If you are visiting this is a great place to walk to from your hotel or condo. You can chill at the bar and kids can play in the sea. The food well is ok.

I would say my only problem. Is that during our summers the place is as hot as hell but really shouldn't complain as we live on this island and can watch amazing sunsets from CJ's.

If you like to party hopefully you are down for their full moon party. Way cool.

Really on good things to say...
