Many years ago, before the Internet, cell-phones and ziplock bags, the area where the George Town Yacht Club is located was a run-down mess, abandoned derelict cars, batteries and urban trash.
What a difference a few decades make! This new restaurant is situated in a spruced-up quiet corner of George Town and is a real 'find'. On a Friday lunchtime the place was rocking, with a satisfying mixture of locals and ex-pats all enjoying the experience, by the look of things.
The service was attentive without being obtrusive, the view fabulous and the food delicious and reasonably priced. The meal was worth the five minute or so wait.... everything was cooked to order. The fries were heavenly, 'piping hot' as they like to say in the UK and done to perfection, "i) crisp of the outside, ii) soft, almost melting, in the middle and iii) dry" (Delia Smith's Complete Cookery Course). The Grouper in a Johnny-cake sandwich was 'yummy', delicately spiced and served with sliced onions & peepers.
The 'icing on the cake'? The view was magnificent.
We'll be back :)
