Owner description: DON FOSTER'S DIVE CAYMAN is a full-service dive operation in the Cayman Islands. Established on Grand Cayman since 1982 and located on the waterfront 3/10 mile south of George Town, Don Foster’s is fronted by Casuarina Point Reef, where you will find excellent shore diving and snorkeling. We have a large dive shop offering dive and snorkel gear rental, t-shirts, souvenirs, drinks and snacks. Our boat diving package rates are the lowest on the island and we will work with you to make your diving experience memorable, whether you want to dive a lot (check out 20-tank special) or a little. Don Foster’s Dive is the place to go for experience, excellent customer service and a great dive experience.

My friend and I booked a cruise excursion with Don Foster's for a barrier reef and stingray snorkelling. The group of 3 guides were very funny and engaging when we arrived and set out to the sites. They told us all sorts of information and made the whole experience fun and comfortable! I appreciated all of their explanations and help while on the trip and would book with them again!

I'm actually quite surprised coming onto TripAdvisor and only seeing two reviews on this place. We spent one whole week in the Caymans with 5 of our friends (all of us are advanced divers with one being a master diver and another a divemaster). We did all of our dives (including Stingray City) through Don Fosters. They had unlimited shore diving which was actually pretty remarkable and not too far from the fabulous Devil's Grotto dive site. We also did one night dive at Casaurina Point (right off the shore) and saw immense amount of life including a sea turtle who took refuge in a small cutout to use as a shelter while he was asleep.

We did a total of 17 dives (two did 18) through the company and they brought us all along the west shores and north shores of the island. The staff were excellent and communicated with you while boating out to the different reef locations. Everyday we were at a different dive site, each having it's own unique features which was always explained to us by one of the dive guides. Another perk was when you got back on the boat after a dive that they would have you sit on the back and remove the tank from your BCD, so when you walked back to your area you didn't have the weight of the tank and you could strap on your next tank right away. The boats were spacious and had enough room to fit about 16 people comfortably. Luckily it wasn't too crowded (I think all of our dives were coordinated when there were no cruise people coming around), so I cannot comment on what the boats would be like if it were filled to capacity. Either way, we had a lot of fun. They thought we were crazy because of the number of dives we did in 6 days!

The ONLY complaint I have is the fact that our group had packaged these dives back in March (we went in July) and we had ordered Nitrox for all of our dives (except shore). There were three days when we either were short on Nitrox tanks or there weren't any tanks available. The only reason why this was a little irritating was the fact we booked this so far in advance, but we did get credited back our money for the unspent tanks.

Other than that, I would recommend Don Fosters!

Went to Gr Cayman on a cruise last fall. Booked the excursion through the cruise line. They use Don Foster's. This was my 14 year old daughter's first ocean dive after getting certified. I told the DM that. She has sinus/allergy issues and sometimes has trouble clearing her ears. I told them that too.
We had to descend the mooring line slowly so she could clear her ears.As we were headed down, I looked down at the group and saw them moving off. My wife and step-daughter tried to hang back but had to stay with the group.
My daughter and I got to the bottom about a minute later. We headed in the groups last known direction, but couldn't see them. So we turned around and spent 30 minutes looking around within sight of the mooring line so we didn't get lost. We found the group as they were heading back so we did spend about five minutes with the group.
I got certified 30 yrs ago. Back then, Gr Cayman was consistantly in the top three of diving spots in the world. I'd always wanted to go there and finally got a chance to go with my family of newly certified divers. This was very disappointing.
I know the dive boat was full. I know they contract with the cruise line and have already been paid.I'm sure cruise divers are a pain in the ^#%, but YOU DON'T LEAVE A DIVER.
I will definitely go back to Grand Caymanl probably on another cruise. But I will book our dives myself - not through the cruise line. I will not use Don Foster's again.

My three kids (ages 17, 16 and 12), my friend and his son (age 18), and I went on a two-tank dive with Don Foster's Dive Cayman as part of a Carnival Cruise Excursion at the end of March. This was without question the best dive experience any of us had ever had. The people at the dive shop was friendly and efficient, and the dive people on the boat were absolutely terrific. They were friendly, the dive locations were perfect, they did a great job leading the two dives, they made sure everyone had a great time, and, perhaps most importantly, they made sure everyone was safe. I can't say enough good things about Don Foster's Dive Cayman. If you want to dive in the Cayman's go to Don Foster's.
