Great place to learn about the beginnings of GC. Lots of history but not boring. Good for adults and kids. Grand Cayman came a long way, very strong and persistent forefathers!

If you are a cruise passenger who likes to wander and avoids shopping this museum is a real education, especially good for showing the positive features of a truly multi racial society in the days before it became a banking and shopping mecca.

We had several hours to wait for our afternoon snorkeling tour so we spend a hour visited this tiny museum. There was a film that captured island life and small exhibits of ocean life and island life. The history is presented in this two stories former Old Courts Building that is the oldest building on the island.

We decided to go into the museum to take a break from shopping. It's small but, it's filled with lots of history and things to see. It was a nice break at mid-day. There is a small gift shop which was filled with souvenirs and Cayman stuff. Most were quite pricey.

This was the 2nd stop on our walking tour. We did not go inside the museum but had a food tasting (local pepper jelly on crackers and Tea Time in Cayman iced tea) at the outdoor portion of the gift shop. However, our guide gave us a a very in depth history of the museum building and its various uses over the years.
