We had heard that the pizza was amazing so we stopped in for lunch on one of our last days. Yes, the Pizza is amazing. We had the Parm ham with Brie cheese. The brick oven was right behind us so we watched the pizza being made. Great service and friendly conversation made for a very enjoyable lunch. Italian cookies for dessert, how can you go wrong.

This is a nice restaurant with a great outdoor eating/deck area. The wait staff is excellent. They even moved our table from against the wall to the deck rail without us even asking after another dinner party had left. One half of our group loved the pasta dishes, while the other half felt the fish was not done properly. After making a request for two fish dishes to be medium rare, they came out of the kitchen dry. Not dessert sand dry, but not moist like they should be prepared. Maybe a bit picky, but at the prices you pay, it should be perfect.

This was our third trip to GC, but first trip to La Dolce Vita. We loved it. We had the fish soup for an app and it was crisp, clean and bursting with flavor. Very fresh. The bruschetta was so simple and again - fresh. Not too many spices or too much garlic and the bread was perfect. Not too crunchy or dry or soggy. My girlfriend had the fettuccine special with a light butter sauce, fresh vegetables, and salmon, snapper and shrimp. The pasta was fresh made to order and as good as anything we tasted in Italy. I had the Fradiavolo pasta an the heat was exactly right and the shrimp spot on. And we eat a lot of shrimp where we are from in Florida. The double espresso an toffee chocolate mousee - their signature desert - was indescribably yummy. So rich yet light and creamy. The crowning gem though was our server Ken - a Peruvian born Vancouver raised waiter with an A+ personality. Mix in a lovely sunset and you get one terrific island meal. Was it a value? All things considered, within context of fine meals on GC, yes it was as expected. With 2 alcoholic beverages and one desert expect to pay $75-100 per person. But we say it was worth it and would return. Last comment is that as great as our experience was - we actually had a better Italian experience on this trip. Look for that review!

The owner and the chefs are all from Italy and the food is outstanding with a view to match overlooking the ocean. Fantastic wine selection and exceptional service. Ask for the fresh pasta special of the day, you will be happy with it as well!
