“Excellent italian food, great service”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

The food is excellent - very fresh pasta and fish and a very entusiastic waiter. The prices are very reasonable and it's a super nice spot - on the water just outside Georgetown (which is nice to avoid the cruise ship crowd). The wine list is a bit limited but our waiter made a good recommendation. The atmosphere is really nice and everyone there seemed to be working hard.

“Wonderful experience!”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

Went there with 3 other people for dinner and we were all highly impressed with the food and service. Dining on a deck overlooking the water was an added bonus! I would go back in a heartbeat! The pizza was amazing :)

“Buon appetito !!! Authentic Italian Cuisine at its' best.”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

We have been visiting Cayman for seven years and stay for Jan & Feb every year. I had thought we had been to all the great restaurants on the island but NO! This year we visted La Dolce Vita for the first time as we were unaware that it exsisted. By far the best italian food on the Island and would compare it to some of the best in Italy and NYC. FRESH FRESH FRESH, everything is so fresh and cooked to order. It is in the same category with Il Mulino and Scalinatella. I visit Rome &Tuscany often and must say that the different sauces here are second to none. The Caprese salad comprised of a creamy barrato(sp) cheese with a touch of basil and extra virgin olive oil, was perfect and refreshing. The eggplant appertizer is served with a flavorful marinara, eggplant sliced perfectly and with just enough cheese to make it a most delightful to start to a perfect meal. The cannelloni was creamy as described with delicious rich cheeses and so much shrimp and lobster that eating 2 was a struggle and I am a big guy with a huge appetite. Unlike most "italian" restaurants on the island, there are no fillers used in their chesse fillings just oodles and oodles of ricotta and other cheeses. The sauce was different from the eggplant dish but equally as tasteful. The papadella was cooked al dente with a delicious bolognese sauce. The veal parm is created with a thick veal chop and a flavorful fresh marinara and just the right amount of cheese. Melted in your mouth. There is not a bad dessert on the menu. I have tried all in my 3 visits in 2 weeks and do not have a favorite, they are all too good, but the Tiramisu is to die for, creamy and tasty. During the remaining 6 weeks we will be back several times and I am sure this authentic italian restaurant run by a beautiful italian family will not disappoint. This is the creme de la creme of italian cuisine, not to be missed.

“Update from a Local”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

As you know Cayman offers many choices in dining. My "go to" place has always been La Dolce Vita. I have had the opportunity to go here several times since pre-Christmas, through the holidays and even up to yesterday hosting friends for lunch. They can offer a casual lunch or a fine dine dinner without being stuffy. Without a doubt the best view, best service (bless you Dennis), and the food consistently fresh, authentic & phenomenal. Whether you want fresh catch, interesting pasta, soup, brick oven pizza or a made to order dish, you will not be disappointed. The owner/chef, his wife and all of the friendly staff will make your visit a memorable experience. Enjoy and spread the word!

“Average, at best”
Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

Maybe we ate there on an off night, but our food was average, at best. The Capri starter had no taste; the cheese was rubbery and tasteless. The cannelloni was creamy to the point of being like eating a bowl of heavy cream with a few pieces of seafood. Dessert was good and the focaccia we ordered to start was delicious.
