“Solid food, good deck”
Reviewed June 4, 2014

We had the fresh fish & it was great. It was actually a pretty big dish & we could've shared it. We also had lobster bisque and drinks. I would say it's a solid choice, but the deck is kinda small so maybe get a reservation. The service was mostly okay.

The sunset was gorgeous.

“Awesome food but PRICEY!”
Reviewed June 3, 2014 via mobile

We had just finished an excursion and wanted good seafood. We were dropped off here. Scenery is beautiful from inside and outside seating. Split a meal and two appetizers and our bill was $92 US. The prices shown on menu are cayman island money. When asked about the prices they said there was something on the menu about it. We obviously did not see it. $5 for splitting a meal which was more than enough! The appetizers were very small.

“Phenomenal view....”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

We lucked out and got the best outside table! We started with marinated conch and escargots....both great! We then shared the "Pot"!! Very generous Pot!! We each got a lobster tail (nice size) 2 huge shrimp, and 3 crab legs with baked potato and veggies. VERY filling and most importantly.....DELICIOUS!!! I finished it all off with the key lime pie.....very refreshing and tasty! HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!!

“Very good food, great service.”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

My boyfriend and I were in the Cayman May 17-24 and ate at the Lobster Pot twice. Lee our server was one of the reasons we came back. Food was very good but Lee made it memorable. If you go, and you should, ask for Lee.

“Beware, frozen fish called fresh by management”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

Dining on a deck overlooking the ocean on Grand Cayman you'd expect a daily catch of fresh fish to be just that. A Grouper we ordered tasted like a rubber chicken, not flakey the way a fresh Grouper should taste. Asked management to replace it and asked if it was fresh as has advertised, the only comment back was that "it came in today", not where it came from. Did not even taste like Grouper , maybe a cheaper fish falsely presented. The Snapper that replaced it was better but still obviously previously frozen.

The price of the fish was not cheap. Lobster Pot management should be ashamed of themselves and at least tell you the fish is frozen if you ask that question directly which we did. Accompanying vegetables were undercooked and rice and peas were bland as a previous reviewer had warned.

On an extremely positive note, our Pumpkin Risotto dish was excellent and worth the tariff. This saved the place from getting a totally negative review.

Our black bean soup appetizer was hot puréed plain with a dab of sour cream was good.

Service was ok and the staff and management were present, friendly and accessible.
