Great BBQ ribs. Liked the rice & veg in the spicy pepper shrimp, but would probably order the spicy pepper beef next time (shrimp were a little over cooked). Mainly takeaway, only a few stools if you want to eat there.

A group of five of us stopped in a little after 1 in search of local food for lunch. We were not disappointed . Large servings of rice and beans with either curry goat or stewed oxtail that were really, really good. The woman that served us was very friendly and chatted with us until her next customer came in. I am glad we found this spot. If you are looking for local food head out to East End and stop here.

All in all a very good take away; Nadine's Hot Spot is next to the petrol station and opposite the post office in East End, Grand Cayman. It is probably the best take away and, as far as I can see the cheapest, on the island. Open 07:00 - 22:00 mon-sat, 10:00 - 22:00 sun

It caters primarily to the village and its environs and is not really focused on the tourist market - though I can thoroughly recommend it for anyone travelling out to the East End. The cuisine is most assuredly Caribbean and and priced very competitively - from the most expensive dish - usually "Stew Turtle" large at $18CI (turtle is a fundamental of Cayman traditional cuisine and from farmed animals) to a daily special such as Curry Chicken & soda ($6CI) you should find something that you like at a fraction of the cost of a George Town restaurant. You can opt for a very substantial "large" or really quite big "small" portions. All come with rice (or rice and beans, you will be asked your preference), and a combination of salad, plantains, cassava, coleslaw or potato salad.

Apart from the stalwarts of the menu - BBQ chicken, curry goat, curry shrimp, salt beef, cow foot, oxtail and beans, conch soup etc food can also be cooked to order for example - traditional fried fish, coconut shrimp, lobster (Nadines' "Cayman Lobster" is a genuinely exceptional dish to find in a take away) burger and fries ($5CI). While you are waiting for cook-to-order food to be prepared you could wonder down onto the beach next door. The view is stunning
